The young girl my age at the beach in the light faded blue dress, chocolate covered mouth and fingers, dirty red hair smiled at me, I smiled back at the younger me. I put the picture back into its place and took off my cotton candy pink tight and uncomfortable head band, put on my favorite faded blue cap on my head as I raced outside to the forest. Past the big farm where we get all of our food, past the little one story brick houses, Everything from the tiring day suddenly didn’t matter. I run until I reach into a whole new silent, deep green world. Trees surround me, rabbits swan the area and little plants grow. Like magic, a ray of sunlight pierces through the trees. I pick one of its leaves, lift it up to the golden yellow sunlight coming in. I put it down and let it twirl like a magical ballerina. I see that the sun is coming down so I rush home. “Eliza! Time for supper!” I hastily ate the bread and some green beans. Then I twirled to my bed! I looked outside and a star seemed to wink at me. I smiled, a little one. Morning seems to come to me in a flash, I reluctantly get up and get ready for the day ahead. Each day is a brand new possibility, a brand new start. Fresh like my mothers mint plants in our lovely little garden after it has showered. The start of a fresh new day is always relaxing in a way, like turning a page in an exciting book. I looked out the window to the exact place the star had winked at me. Rain drops run down the window as I run to the closet. A Sapphire and Cerulean colored dress with silver stars ranging in all sizes. As I slam the door with great force while running with a piece of bread drizzled with honey. My life had begun it was officially running. Just how I was on this particular Tuesday to the school house made of dirt, mud and bricks made out of stone glued with mud. My dress seems to soar in the air. My leggings and shoes are caked with mud and grass by the time I reach the school house. The aneicnt bell rings by the crack of dawn. Mrs. Bloomingburg tells everyone to sit down as she takes a sip of water. We are all sitting in our desks as Mrs. Bloomingburg ____________________________________________ A case of wonder eye . Her eyes were flooding with wonder. They were like porcelain glass but that would not be the right word, there would never be a word to describe them. As she reached out her hands, like she was reaching for a star longing to be one. Floating in the dark night sky and never falling, placed all around the earth like shiny stickers. She reached her small hand and her father held it. While her mother carried her. The little girl wanted to see it all as she was placed in a comfy seat –but not as cozy as her mothers lap– she looked around and was wonderstruck and wordless. The little girl began to learn how to walk on her stubby short wobbly legs. “One step at a time!” her mother had said. “That's my little girl!” Exclaimed her father. “Get the video camera!” Yelled out her oldest sister. “Keep on going Pepper!” her brother had an excited whisper. Her mother had gotten some cupcakes with vibramate neon rainbow icing sprinkled with glitter stars, in celebration of this achievement. The little girl turned her direction towards the sugary sweet cupcakes. Some words stuck to her “Me want shine!” Pepper mouthed. Looking the some of diamonds in the almost dark sky. After a joyful day, the little girl was put into her crib. Right next to the closet and straight across her parents bed, a window was right above her head. Sometimes the window was closed other times it was open, this was one of these times. Moonlight shined directly at her face, the stars placed like the pictures on the walls, the flowers they all seemed to face for her. The little girl had certain curiosity, she desired learning. She wanted to find out everything! One day the bright moring sun woke Pepper up. This day for most was rather unextordanarly but for Pepper this day would change the course of her life. Her life would likey be very different if it weren’t for this very day. She would go to daycare, as Peppers mother lovingly put her into a a bright blue car seat with some clouds the journey began. New sights, new people, new life! Pepper would have as she was starting out of the window, if she had the gift of words. The court yard was flooded with children as young as 3 mounths old to the oldest being 4.5. The 5 mounth child was strolled into the courtyard her mother whispered in her ear advice that would she would always remember “Always have wonder, no matter what.”
