26/11/2025: i managed to fix the tile rendering being weird when zoomed in or out bugs needing fixing are mentioned in the background sprite 29/11/2025: i added a buggy particle system because i felt like it 1/12/2025: i added another mode to the particle system, and almost figured out slopes 7/12/2025: i am THIS close to fixing slopes, also i changed the color of the background to lively blue because i need joy and whimsy in my life 8/12/2025: i found out i broke the camera system somehow, but i'll fix it later.BUT, the main thing, i almost got slopes working like they should!!!, problem is, if you go to the edge of a slope, with like pixel perfect precision, the player will sink repeatedly, and THAT is the only problem left to solve 8/12/2025 7:01pm: AAAA I FIXED IT FINALLY :DDDD!!!! thank you to the people who have come to help :), sorry that I kinda made you lose your time since I didn’t end up using your approach, but instead just polishing mine, I hope you aren’t mad about that. Although I must say, it is not fully perfect, when you jump from one slope to the other sometimes it looks weird, and wall collision when you jump from a slope can be weird, but I feel like it is functional enough to be a non-issue for now. I’m genuinely so happy about this, I can finally start adding enemies, objects and decorations! :DD. 16/12/2025: I improved slope collision (somehow), broke walljumping, and added more tiles. The only problem is that their process makes the project super laggy, so I have to optimize it 16/12/2025, 6 hours later: i fixed it and added a parallax layer but it didn't want to work here so i'm postponing it
