Hello! I am Kuniique, however I also go by the name Anthony! More well-known on my main account, @Kunimaocode, I am 15 years old, and from the UK! My timezone is GMT [ and BST in the summer ], and I've been an active member of the Gaehive since around early 2024 [ I wanna say April was the earliest I was ever active? I can't quite recall ]. I don't really use labels or identities because I think they're restrictive. I'm just me! I like Mario games, Spongebob, FNF, object shows, and various roblox games! - Why do I think I'd make a good manager? - I believe I would be a great fit for a manager because my number one priority in life is to make people happy! I'm always happy to support folks, be it giving them euphoria, or listening to them vent, or even just saying hi! I'm quite active on Scratch in general, and I frequent the Gaehive lots! I'm also quite good at enforcing and following rules whenever I can, which I believe would be a big help to a chatroom as large as Gaehive! - Downsides to me being manager - Unfortunately, I am human, which means, like everyone else, I have flaws. I'd say my biggest weakness is that I'm prone to overthinking and anxiety. I've been working on it, and I have resources for whenever things start to get too much, however it's a battle I am still fighting and probably will fight forever! I was also gifted with the *wonderful* gift of autism, so I am really bad at understanding tone and social cues, and I'm quite sensitive to criticism, though I rarely show it. Once again, that's just one of those things I'm gonna be stuck with forever. I like to imagine if I got accepted as manager, it'd give me experience to help me tackle those problems easier? Who knows. - Why do I want to be manager? - I want to be a manager because, as I've mentioned, I'm always eager to be helpful and supportive! Initially, I joined the Gaehive so I could learn more about the LGBTQ+ community and be more supportive and helpful to those in it, and managing the Gaehive would help me be able to support the community I've learnt so much about even more, and keep it a positive place for all! - Unique traits that differentiate me from other candidates - I have taken on many other leadership roles, both on and off of Scratch! I'm quite a well-known helper around the Scratch community, and I have worked with the Scratch Team themselves on various things, such as helping to curate event studios like Scratch Week and Scratch Camp, or personally helping them with the Youth Advisory Board! So not only am I a self-proclaimed expert at helping run Scratch studios, I'd also know how to resolve things with the ST quite well I'd say lols! I also have a timezone that not many other managers have, so that could help when most others are asleep! Another thing is that I'm unlabelled, so I could provide awareness and representation in the Gaehive for those who are questioning themselves and just can't find a label that fits, and/or those who feel that labels restrict them too! - What I'd strive to improve if I got accepted - I've noticed that the studio has had a lot of issues with connection, and interaction. It's a community-driven, however to quite a few folks, myself included at times, it just feels like lesser-known people get ignored quite a bit. I'd focus on helping bring back that sense of community, and getting rid of the social clique-like groups that seemed to have formed, as I feel those are one of the main roots of the issue. I'd also provide the Hive with fun activities and such to make things even more fun and enjoyable for everyone! Obviously I'd help out every which way I can in every other aspect of managing, however that has been the main issue I'd focus on! - What being a manager entails to me - I've heard that being a manager comes with a lot of stress and work, much more than what people realise. From what I've seen, managers have to : resolve conflict within the studio, try to keep things level and make the studio a safe and positive place for all, meet as many folks' requests as they are able, manage the points system and keep on the lookout for any broken rules, stay supportive even in tough times and even when folks are treating them badly, contact ST about things like trolls and general other issues, and balance their personal lives on top of all of that?! Quite a lot. I believe I am capable of helping out with all of this! [ Recommendations in the notes and credits ]
As for recommendations... I've got so many people I could recommend, it's almost too hard to choose lols!! The first person I'd recommend is Matt [ @BetterKeepCalm ]. They're such a positive presence on the Gaehive, I love the fun polls he asks, and it is very active in the community! He's also very good at upkeeping the rules from what I've seen! I keep forgetting they're not a manager already lols. The second person I'd recommend is Wade [ @DeadtothePool ]. We haven't interacted too often, but he seems like quite a level-headed, reasonable person : perfect for such a role like a manager! I believe he would make a great fit! That's about it! Regardless of whether or not I get accepted, this has been quite an insightful project to make! It's given me the time I need to reflect on myself, my strengths, and my flaws! I appreciate that opportunity! Apologies if it's a bit incomprehensible at times, a lot of it was written at like 1am lols :p [ Music featured in this project is 'Acidjazzed Evening' by Tempest, and 'get a snack' from the Regretevator OST. Also I didn't know what else to add in the thumbnail so I just put memes lols :p ]
