**Moonflower and Hawk** -chapter 47- The throne room doors closed behind them. Zelda and Link walked side by side down the long marble corridor, footsteps echoing in the silence. Neither spoke. The air between them was thick. Zelda glanced at him. He looked straight ahead-expression blank, posture perfect, sword heavy on his back. She tried. "Link," she said softly. No response. She frowned. "Hello? Can you hear me?" Still nothing. She stopped walking. "Come on, Link. I know you can talk." He paused, but didn't turn. Didn't speak. Didn't move. Zelda's chest tightened. "You used to talk to me," she said, voice rising. "You used to laugh. You used to smile." He stayed silent. She stepped closer. "What happened to you?" Link didn't answer. He couldn't. Not because he didn't want to. But because he didn't know how anymore. He looked at her-really looked. She was taller now. Her braid longer. Her eyes sharper. Her voice steadier. She looked like a woman. Not the girl who sketched squirrels and handed him moonblossoms. Not the girl who cried at the fence and gave him her journal. She was Princess Zelda now. And he was her knight. Link felt something twist in his chest. He wanted to speak. To say I'm sorry. To say I miss you. But the words were buried under layers of duty, silence, and pressure. So he stayed quiet. Emotionless. Still. Zelda stared at him. Then turned away. She walked down the hall alone, footsteps quick, shoulders tight. And Link watched her go. Feeling everything. Saying nothing.
