January 2026 update : These drawings have been damaged sadly :( (⚠️ CW : Unapproved Music for OALC) Hello and Jumalan Terve! Click flag and click the art Kittos Jumalamme... (I had four exams last week, all which I got 90+ on, and I don't have school until December.) For those wondering, Kittos Jumalamme means "Thanks to God" in Finnish, yet another Laestadian phrase.) So I had no motivation to draw this month, mainly due to school, exams and Lutheranism Studies class (I ♡ Lutheranism Studies sm we're studying Martin Luther's devotionals which is so funny because it's a yearly devotional and we're literally on January 2nd lol) if anybody has seen Laestadianism 101, These are my drawings of Milla Clementsdotter and Lars Levi Laestadius. If you haven't seen Laestadianism 101, the link is down below I originally wanted to make just the Milla drawing, but since I loved the drawing, I decided I wanted to make one of Laestadius as well. The flag on Milla's drawing is the Sámi flag, BTW in case I get comments like "Why is Milla dark-skinned if she's Scandinavian and Scandinavians have light skin???" There aren't any photo references of Milla, and the only reference that shows her physical appereance is a church mural, and she is portrayed as dark skinned, and that the only physical description of her. Also, Milla is Sámi (The Sámi are the Indigenous people of Northern Scandinavia, Laestadius was also Sámi.) Friendly reminder that Laestadianism originally started as a combination between the original Sámi religion and Lutheranism. Laestadianism was literally meant to be "Lutheranism for the Sámi." But friendly reminder that you can be from anywhere and be Laestadian. There are Laestadians in the U.S, Latin America, Europe, Africa, etc. Art Supplies I used * Acrylic Paint * Acriylic Paint (Marker) * Water-Based Marker * Watercolor * Colored Pencil (kid-friendly/school quality) * Colored pencil (professional) * alcohol/professional markers basically, I used "almost" every type of art material I own. I didn't use any of my 3D materials (clay, diamond painting beads, etc) or my more "kid-friendly" art supplies (chalk, crayons, etc) I love how both of these drawings came out, definitely a 10/10 expirience Jumalan Rauhaa!
