Hey! I'm officially back but i won't be accepting appointments until next week bc i need to catch up on some work! Now, Since i'm back i need to make up lost time so today i will be dropping some coping exercises i use. In todays proj i wont be exploring coping skills for everything only PTSD, Sh thoughts since those are the most common ones. #1 'PTSD' If you don't know already PTSD means post-traumatic stress disorder. PTSD is a mental health condition that can develop after a person experiences or witnesses a traumatic event. So basically this section can range from whether you witnessed a d3ath or have flashbacks to a experiance that you don't want to remeber. Lets begin! #1 'Breath' Everybody says just breath hold release. But the truth, Use this method. Find a pa[er and pencil or just use your hands draw ANY shape you want 'geometric shapes' After doing so I want you to trace over each side slowly and breath in sync for every movement. Breath hold release hold repeat hold. #2 ' Think' Remeber when in those cartoons they would say "think of something happy" well thats kinda how it works and kinda not. In this strategy you will kinda combine the first one but you aren't drawing any shapes. Rather, you are counting 4 seconds for each one inhale hold exhale hold. When doing that slowly shift to think of something different. SLOWLY key word, do it to fast and you'll trigger your PTSD again. Thats all i have for PTSD lets move on #2 ' Sh' We all know sh is scary and stuff yet we can't express our selves in our comms (why i exsist lma) because of other peoples triggers. But, thats where i come. I don't have exersises for this one but i do have tips.
