I stared at the captain, and the captain stared back. The captain looked WAY older than when I saw him last, and he had many scars, scars that weren't there before, like he was attacked in the past. The captain stepped forward and pulled out a set of keys, I flicked my tail, signaling that he could come forward, I trusted him. He came and undid the binds, and I felt the tension release and the ring when they hit the ground. I tried to spread my wings, but cried as I tried. The dragons flinched as they heard me cry, and I couldn't take it any longer. I tried to speak, but my voice only came out as a whisper, and my frost-flames didn't come out. I looked up at the captain, tears forming. The captain put his wings around me as I cried, I couldn't do ANYTHING now... I was... useless. The captain helped me get up and helped me get to a room, out of the cells. I caught a glance of Hazel, and I stopped, anger growing, blood boiling. No matter how weak, hurt, and tired I was, I stomped over and opened the cell to find Hazel chained, and I growled. I couldn't speak, but the lashing of my tail gave enough of a signal to Hazel that I was mad. I breathed in, and I felt ice form, and my eyes went wide. I knew I couldn't reveal my frost-flames, my mother would never approve, but... I had already done it so long ago, and, I didn't care at this point. I could tell that the captain knew what I was going to do, cause he asked the leader if we could go out into the arena. The king agreed, and before I knew it, I was out in the arena. I stepped forward, wincing, but striving. Hazel stared at me, eyes narrowing, she couldn't fly, but she could grow plants. I soon stopped walking, and waited for her to make the move. After about ten agonizing minutes, she grew plants, and they made their way towards me. I glanced at the captain, still unsure, and he nodded encouragingly. I breathed in, and shot my frost-flames out. And everyone in the stands screamed. Hazel started to run, eyes wide, but my frost-flames surrounded her, and I knew I had won. I was then taken to my room (after a LOT of persuading), and was introduced to the royal family. "This is Princess Twilight of the Icewings..." explained the captain (named Baobab). The king (Pine) then said, "Well... I don't know who the current leader is... all I know is that when I left Pyrrhia, Snowfall's successor, whose name is unknown to me, was leader..." I looked at the captain, and picked up my pen and paper, and wrote down 'Hailstorm'. "Was that the leader when you left?" asked Pine. I nodded, and then wrote down 'Father. King.' Pine was surprised, "So, your father is the king... brother to Snowfall, and he was the first male leader... interesting..." "To bad Eclipse isn't here..." said Oak (The Leafwing with more brown than gold scales). "She DID say that a dragon of ice and flame would come..." said Baobab. Pine nodded, "I won't be able to send word to the Icewings for we ARE in the middle of a war... but," he turned to me, "we will nurse you, and take care of you... then we will figure out where to go after you're healed." I couldn't believe it, many years ago, I was imprisoned by a crazy queen, and now, I was being saved by a kind king. I knew, that no matter how long it took, I would return home with the herbs, and hopefully in time for my father. _____________________________________________ Credits- *Thanks to for inspiring me to do this *Picture from the internet *Thanks to whoever made this song *Thanks to Tui T.
