Lore: Asterion was one of the Pale King’s earliest secret projects — an experiment to create a being who carried both Void and Light in balance. The Pale King hoped Asterion would become a perfect guardian of Hallownest. But the mix of forces inside him was unstable. His Void side pulled him toward silence and instinct. His Light side sparked bursts of emotion and power he couldn’t control. Fearing that Asterion might destroy the kingdom by accident, the Pale King personally sealed him in a hidden chamber deep below the kingdom, placing bindings of both Light and Void over him. When Hallownest began to crumble, those seals finally weakened. Asterion awoke — confused, alone, and unsure if the Pale King feared him… or cared for him. Now he wanders the ruins, trying to understand the purpose he was created for.
