It was built for a semi-aquatic lifestyle, with a powerful, paddle-like tail for swimming and dense bones for buoyancy control. Its large size, with lengths up to 60 feet, makes it one of the largest known carnivorous dinosaurs. Body and size Dimensions: Lengths of 45–60 feet and heights of 17–23 feet have been estimated. Weight: Weight estimates vary widely, from 7 tons to as much as 20 tons or more. Build: Despite its size, it had a relatively narrow build and shallow ribcage compared to other large theropods like T. rex. Distinctive features Sail: A large sail, created by elongated neural spines on its back, could reach up to 6–8 feet tall. Purpose: This sail likely served as a thermoregulation tool to help the dinosaur regulate its body temperature, or it could have been used for display to attract mates or intimidate rivals. Skull and snout: A long, narrow skull with a crocodile-like shape housed conical, non-serrated teeth adapted for catching fish. Nostrils: The nostrils were positioned higher on the snout, which is thought to have helped it breathe while submerged. Limbs: Forelimbs: Large and powerful with three clawed digits, the largest of which was the thumb. They were used to hold onto prey and may have been used for walking on all fours occasionally. Hind limbs: Shorter than previously thought, with evidence suggesting they may have been adapted for paddling. Tail: A long, flexible tail, much like a crocodile's, was likely used to propel it through the water. Lifestyle and adaptations Semi-aquatic: Its physical characteristics suggest it was highly adapted to a semi-aquatic lifestyle, spending a significant amount of time in or near water. Diet: Its snout and teeth indicate it was primarily a piscivore (fish-eater). Credit to Google
