I was nervously fidgeting while walking into the ballroom, this was my first ever public event that I ever attended and I kept overthinking everything. "Izzy calm down, it's not like anything bad is going to happen." Ash rolled her eyes, "You don't know that!" I protested, "remember the letter????" I was unable to relax and kept biting my lower lip. "Like I said, it's probably a prank! We already gave it to the headmaster and he said he'll look into it! So stop worrying and actually enjoy something for once!" She playfully elbowed me, "But I still can't believe you're going with Connor~~~" She changed the subject, obviously teasing me like usual. "Let her have this moment for once Ash." Anne rolled her eyes. "Ack!" Just as I was opening my mouth to thank Anne, I felt someone bump into me, "Sorry! I wasn't looking where I was going!" I looked behind me and there was a girl with long ginger hair that she was twirling on her finger and shimmering blue eyes that looked like vast oceans. She was wearing a floaty light yellow dress that was slightly frilly at the bottom, there was buttons on the front, there was no shoulder straps and looked like it was made out of lace. It matched her perfectly. "No, it's fine! I'm Izzy, Izzy Nightingale, what about you?" I smiled, noticing her awkward fidgeting that I was doing a moment ago. She smiled "Ava Jane, it's a pleasure to meet you!" Ava held out her hand and I shook it. "Anyways, I gotta go, we can catch up later!" She said, walking away. I looked around and realised that Ash and Anne weren't next to me anymore, they were probably plotting a prank on me like usual. I was about to go look for Connor when the ballroom erupted in screaming and chaos, I was utterly confused. I saw Ash and Anne and I was about to call out to them when I felt something hit me in the head and eveything went black.
