chroma's writing on the evolution of lumings
translation. AHEM. The evolution of the lumilings, by Chroma Hellos! Hello! I'm Chroma of the Lumilings. Really though, I am not one of them. Just a lumiling. Anyways, I am here to talk about the evolution of my species! Why we have poison resistance It all started when we looked like this. We had very bad vision, and mostly only noticed light. We couldn't find much, but there were glowroots! They uh... glow! So we ate them. However, glowroots were all poisonous besides on (pale glowroots) kind of glowroots. Lumilings with lackluster poison resistance ended up doing something called dying. If you know evolution, then you know what happens next. If you don't, then let me break it down for you. So when someone or something dies, they cant really have babies. So with the people with little to no poison resistance dead, only the dudes with poison resistance have babies. This eventually leads to most (or all! (editors note: chroma forgot to mention all lumilings have poison resistance now.)) of the population being immune to poison. We still put glowroots in our food today! How we got better vision part one Because of lumilings really only eating glowroots, the glowroots evolved too! Because we could see mostly only light, the brighter glowroots were found and eaten more often. With the brighter glowroots dead, eaten, and unable to reproduce, evolution took hold and eventually glowroots became dimmer, which prevented them from becoming dinner. For now... How we got better vision part two When the glowroots dimmed, it became harder for Lumilings with bad light perception to find food. So they died. (editors note: Chroma requested to change some stuff here.) Remember what happens when we die and we have a bad trait that's kinda common? The rarer, good trait becomes common! Yay! So we could see and stuff! (Editors note: the edits end here.) And then... (complete paragraph edited) Soon enough, we became intelligent enough to form civilizations. Soon after, we became obsessed with conformity. This was, surprise surprise, a mistake. Now, (editors note: hold on, tiny edit) Most of us are (editors note: no more edit.) LGBTQ+ phobic freaks who deserve extinction. (editors note: another edit) Luckily some people like me, and some other lumilings are LGBTQ+ so that's chill (editors note: the edits end here, and so does Chroma's writing.)
