hi so this is a bit late because it’s finals season LOL, but if you haven’t heard, I was permanently banned from tfc. if you don’t know what tfc is or what that means, you don’t need to read this. this post is for people who want context on a situation theyre aware of. i’m going to explain what happened, what the server was, and give a rough timeline. i’m not here to start drama or demand agreement. i want to present my side clearly so people can form their own opinions with both sides in mind. i’ll try to be clear about what I’m stating as fact versus when I’m sharing my personal perspective. if something I say doesn’t make sense, or if you think my reasoning is flawed, please say so. i want to clear up confusion, not shut down discussion. discuss my personal opinions as much as you want in these comments. one thing I ask is that people don’t attack each other in the comments. this is a space for discussion, not dogpiling. unless its dogpiling on me, which i mean fair, this is a post that you should think critically about. don't take any PERSONAL opinions i state as fact. make your own opinion, dont blindly agree with things i say. please don’t harass the moderation team over any of the choices they made. i’ve asked them the questions i needed to, and while i don’t agree with every outcome, i understand that they were dealing with a difficult situation where there wasn’t a clear or easy “right” answer. ok now yapping time basically there was a chaos server created as a /friend group server/ called the true trustworthy gang. we had chat channels, art channels, a tfc talk channel, vent channels, and most important to the story im telling a confessions channel. the server was NOT created to gossip about people or to get people banned. people did NOT join the server w/ this intention or knowledge of what was going to take place. we had conversations outside of the gossip about our tfc characters, art, and general friend group things. the majority of the server was inactive/only posted art and never made any indication that they had read the gossip (which was largely limited to the confessions channel). however, there was gossip, and people who said negative things about other tfc members. i am not justifying this, and i will not attempt to. this wasn't a good thing to do, which i have strongly stood by since then. however, all active members of this gossip were banned since september. personal opinion alert a fair question people ask is " well why didn’t those people report it immediately? " i agree that the gossip should have been reported sooner. at the same time, i think it’s important to acknowledge how situations like this actually play out. if you overhear friends talking badly about classmates and you believe it’s staying within that group and that it isn’t escalating into harassment or abuse it can be hard to immediately recognize the severity or to report people you consider friends especially when you think that doing so will destroy your friendships with them and get them in trouble and ruin something thats important to them that. does that make it right? no. but it does explain why some people didn’t act right away. ok now back to facts i was the one who reported what was happening in the server, which is the main reason i wasn't banned with the rest of them. this doesn't excuse my behavior at all. i would have completely understood & agreed w being banned for still being a part of it. anyways this happened in september. in december, information that someone from ttg (no information on who was found, them being a member of ttg is the only semi-confirmable thing) had been sending threats to people. this was never mentioned or discussed in the server at all. the server mods had no idea about it, and it wasn't a group choice at all. i found this out in my ban message, as im sure almost all of the other members did. we did not send threats to people as a group. we would have never done this. please do not operate under the assumption that we condone this behavior, or this was the behavior that should have been reported and that people were staying silent about. gossip is wrong, and I take responsibility for participating, but gossip is fundamentally different from threats or harassment. the two should not be conflated. anyways! thank you for reading this, if you have any questions please ask them, i want everything to be as crystal clear as possible.
