It was another day in Phoenix. The royal fortress sat unharmed and safe, as usual. Chatter was buzzing, guards stood in their hallways, and Uriel was safe. Uriel sat in the blaze spawner room, accompanied by 2 other blaze guards. It sat on the spawner, writing a scroll about trade agreements with Azar. They then took a pause, turned to one of their guards, then said, "Could you please serve me any type of meal? I'm feeling particularly hungry." "At your service," the guard replied, floating off in an orderly fashion. Uri finished writing the scroll faster than they expected, and the guard wasn't even back yet. Very well. He would wait. After a short moment, the guard returned with a quartz bowl of warped fungus. "Enjoy, sire," the guard said, bowing down. Uri gazed at the guard with warm eyes and said smoothly, "Of course." The guard returned to his spot near the spawner, and Uri heard him mumble, "Seriously, even the chefs are on this 'invasion' thing. Why would-" "WHAT invasion thing?" Uri asked firmly, his tail catching on fire. The guard flinched, then said, "Rumors of humans invading the fortress have been spreading around like lava. However, they are all based on nonsense, and there is nothing to worry about." Uri thought for a second, looking at the fortress, then at the guard. "Very well." Uri finally said, looking at the trade agreement scroll. "Now, if you excuse me, I will have to deliver this script to Azar." "Sire, wouldn't it be best to give-" "I feel that it would be best for me to deliver the scroll myself," Uri explained. "Do not move one inch out this room." Uri walked out the room, their scroll in hand. The "delivering the scroll myself" thing was partially true, but the main purpose was to get to the source of the rumors. They had to start from somewhere, truth or lie. He strolled through a long hallway, where wither skeleton guards stood, unmoving. Uri glanced at one of them and asked, "Do you happen to know any rumors about an invasion?" "A- Yes, sire. They say that 4 humans living in an underground base will raid the fortress." "And where did these rumors surface?" "At the quartz mines, I believe." "Excellent. Thank you for your time." As Uri was headed towards the mines, it heard distant chatter, sounding like humans. The humans said something in English like, "Go, go, go!" Oh no. Uri tried to stand his ground. The humans' voices semmed to be coming from far away from Uri. If he went for the mines, he could use a shard as a makeshift sword. If he went for the guards, he could tell them to take care of the humans. But why not both? Uri ran towards the guards, stating firmly, "Humans are attacking. Fight them." "Yes, sire," the guards said at once. Uri then ran towards the quartz mines, but standing in the hall was the humans. "Ok, what is that thing?" a human with plain netherite armor said, before striking Uri with a diamond sword. "GUARDS!" Uri shouted, before another human shot it with an arrow. "Ok, so it's a blaze thing," the human said, as the guards cornered the players. The guards got to work, slashing the humans and killing the one with the diamond sword. However, the others were strange. After any killing blows, there would be a popping sound, and the humans would come out unharmed. Fire did nothing; if the humans caught on fire they would splash some orange potion and be unharmed. Uri swiftly dodged a sword attack, and another, and another. Soon, more guards came. Attack after attack, nothing came. Until the second human died. The human with a bow looked at his dead friend, then said, "How many totems?" "None," the other human said before a slash from a wither skeleton killed him. One more human. Totems? Were some kind of totems keeping them alive? Those totems must be limited, Uri thought. "Keep at it," they shouted. "Do you have any strat-" "Shut up and kill the human!" Uri slipped away from the battle. She couldn't deal with this stupid fight any longer. They walked back to the spawner room when... A human scream. "It's over?" a guard sighed. Uri walked back to the battle scene, standing over a pile of loot. It was over.
