Let me tell you a story. A long time ago a boy had a dream. This boy loved the hit Scratch game series Building Boy, and had fond memories of being bad at Red Ball 3 as a child. In Red Ball 3, there were swinging sawblades and other horrendous things, designed to destroy our heroic young red ball trying to defeat the evil black ball and save his beloved pink girl ball. The boy grew nostalgic of this, and sought out to create a pendulum for the Building Boy series. He used his adeptness with basic Algebra to create an apple that follows the shape of a Parabola (Thanks to Menaechmus for that) in Scratch. He then had a realization. This pendulum doesn't follow Physics at all! He was distraught. The fastest point on the pendulum is the very bottom, but it's the exact opposite here. Distraught, he began research on how to fix it. And then came the horror. He was bad at Physics. PARABOLAS ARE NOT THE SHAPE THAT PENDULUMS FOLLOW! THEY MOVE IN AN ARC SHAPE. Distraught once more, he pondered what to do. Crestfallen, he scrapped all his grand plans. And released the game as is. He gave us Parabolas in Building Boy out of the goodness of his heart. If you ever see a Parabola in Building Boy, this boy was the melancholy pioneer behind it. That boy is a man now. Actual pendulums to follow (when I finally have time to work on it)
