Welcome to Boxxly, a platformer template with simple code! Each part of this one-script project has a clear, easy-to-understand purpose! And the best part is that it works perfectly! Features include, but are not limited to: - Only two (essential) variables! - No custom blocks! - No hitboxes! - No "point in direction" or "move __ steps" blocks - Gravity - Acceleration and deceleration - X and Y momentum - Ground detection in all four directions! - Death & respawn when touching a sprite - Collectibles (coins) - An enjoyable level for playing around! Plus, explanations inside the project for each part of code! Feel free to use this as inspiration or use the code directly, but please give credit! And if you didn't know already, arrow keys to move.
Most of you probably know that Griffpatch has his own platformer tutorial on his alternate account. This is what I used to make my first platformer, but it was difficult for me to understand. What I have tried to do here is to design a platformer script that is short, simple, and logical, so that you can understand why and how everything is working. I hope this is helpful for you! Changelog: 12/15/25: Added collectibles, score, and timer. My fastest time to collect all the coins is 12.8 in-game seconds! 11/26/25: Initial release!
