✩Bruno Mars~ 1yr & 2yr REDRAW + self critique☆

✰ Bruno Mars, Die With A Smile & 24k MAGIC REDRAW! + Critique on old drawing! ✰ ༺༻༺༻༺༻༺༻༺༻༺༻༺༻༺ ♦ sooo, over thanksgiving break i had this idea/ motivation, i was looking through my art portfolio and came across my 2 first ever drawings I made od Bruno Mars, or a pwrson in general :3, and damn, since the start od 2025 and where i am now (almost 2026) IVE HAD A HUGE leap, into how I draw people & shade them, soo i thought, why not do a redraw and see how big this improvement was? So guess what i did, I REDREW THEM BOTH! ^^ ꒷︶꒷꒥꒷‧₊˚꒷︶꒷꒥꒷‧₊˚꒷︶꒷꒥꒷‧₊˚꒷︶꒷꒥꒷‧₊˚꒷︶꒷꒥꒷‧₊˚ 1◈ 24K Magic (2024) late 2025-2026 Redraw! ・ this was my first ever realistic human attempt and first ever bruno Mars drawing attempt :) i made it 2 years ago! So i decided to redraw it 2 years from then and see that 2 year gap of improvement, (which is HUGE), im really happy & OBSESSED with how this redraw came out, i mastered his proportions, looks, and angle, (which drawing a more up shadowed angle is a LOT harder), after redrawing it by comparing my new one you can tell the silly mistakes i made when i drew my first one!, this sketch took 2 days, since his shirt was a freaking pain TwT, NEVER AGAIN-, im planning to do color for this one :) ✰Critique Of old one ✰ ➩: This was drawn 2 years ago, bit i can see how off i was on proportions,for this being my first attempt i did pretty good!, i still like it, it just doesnt meet my art stabdards now that i can draw people really good, the parts that i can tell i was really off on would be proportion wise, since bruno Mars has a more defined jawline, i saw that i over did it, which makes his face look either bigger or fatter in size than his real one, i was also off on his lips 100% i made them too big compared to the ref in the corner (same ref i used and grid). I feel like the way i drew his perspective is a little off, and he should have had wider shoulders and all that. my shadding was a little "Choppy", i feel like at that point i didnt know how to shade people as animals require less details and humans require a lot more layers and shadings, i also see i made his hair a little bit "bigger" than the size shown in the ref, i overdid the poof XD, just made his hair a little bit poofer than it should be. Pretty decent for a first attempt! ➳༻❀✿❀༺➳➳༻❀✿❀༺➳➳༻❀✿❀༺➳ 2☆: Die With A Smile (jan:2025) late 2025-2026 Redraw! ・I remembered when die with a smile first came out, i really wanted to draw bruno Mars, and attempt to draw a person realistic for the FIRST time, and since bruno Mars is my fave artist, i gave it a try, SOOO,NOW ITS BEEN A YEAR, SINCE DWAS WAS RELEASED, and NOW I CAN DRAW PEOPLE LIKE CRAZZZY, since ap art had me on a large project over the summer to draw 22 different people, and now BAM, within 3 months of straight forward practice, i could draw people like no other B) sooo, since its been a year, i thought id redraw my second realistic human attempt, and see the improvement from then! Im obsessed with the redraw, like REALLY, he turned out FANTASTIC! i got his proportions a lot more accurate than i did back then, and his face just looks Fabulous TwT <3, this ones sketch took me 4 days bc of the details & his face (i havent drawn bruno without glasses since that 1st one), and damn i love this sketch soooo much! Its not done tho as i will be doing the charcoal and all that cool stuff :) ✰ Critique Of Old One ✰ ・ I just wanna say, damn ive improved so freaking much that i spitted all my errors, looking at my old one compared to the ref, I can see how at that time i struggled on proportions,his chin is a little fatter & shorter than it should be, since hes singing his chins gotta go down to give out that singing look on his face, his shoulder and red flaps shoukd have been larger and more straighter than curvy, and his mouth should have been a little wider + his nose and face should have been pointing towards the right, my shading was alright, i mainly liked the way i did his shirt bc personally, doing the assesories is the fun part, makes the person come to life ✨, i did okay with the fave shading but it looks still a little choppy and at this time i barely even knew how to shade peoples skin and all that, his eyes should have been looking to the right more, and im missing his facial expression hes giving, for this one being my second realistic human draw, i think i did ok and i wasnt off by a lot, but, critiquing old work helps me become a better artist and im loving the new ones :3 ➩ Im sure nobody read all that but uhm LMAO KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR THE ART DUMP :)
