Whew, this one's a fun one to tell... I guess I'd have to start it off at the beginning of this school year... The high school I go to is mostly students that went from one of two middle schools (meaning they sorta merged), and it's been really nice to meet new people that are so interesting and have lives that are different from yours, but in a good and curious way. Anyways, the group of peers I'm going to talk about today happens to be in my orchestra class, which consists of about 80% of students that I didn't know or had never met prior to this school year. As some of you might know already, I am first chair violist in my class, which is a (very lol) nice thing to show off, but like all nice things, comes with some responsibility. If you mess up, others that look up to you do as well, if you play a note in the wrong scale, the others do, etc. I've always been known for playing loud, and not as in it's a bad thing but as in I'm confident in what I'm playing (which might have been one of the reasons I was selected as first chair, keep that in mind for your own musical journey). It's truly been a thrill playing with the class, because sometimes we get to parts that only certain people know how to play and everybody else stops, so it sounds like a trio and in those moments are honestly some of my favorite times. Having said all of this, I guess you could compare an orchestra to jenga blocks, where if you pull one at the start you notice and see it but the entire block doesn't fall, but when you get closer to the end and have less pieces it's more dangerous to pull each piece. ... Let's just say that in my section, we don't have a lot of pieces, and I'm a major piece that you do NOT want to pull, otherwise you might lose the game (unless you're really quick, in which I'd have to give kudos to you) I felt really disappointed the day of this event, because I didn't have most of my classmates phone numbers, but ironic enough, they had a sub that day and I started receiving texts from random numbers that I'd never seen before, and the crazy part was is that they all said my name in the texts. And then they FaceTimed me which was truly great, other than the fact that I got my phone taken cause I was "participating in bad activities" because they were on their phones during school which isn't allowed, but yk... The happy ending to this story is that I made a group chat with all of them, and it's been really nice talking to them and discussing everything from teasing on each other to who was laughing during the moment of silence when we were mourning the loss of a recently graduated violist (story for another time, although maybe not, I'd prefer to leave that one in the past). It's been a couple weeks since this happened, but I still wanted to share cause I find life stories to be interesting and I hope you all do too. And finally, I'd be wrong to write this without leaving some sort of message or purpose for spending time to make this project, so I encourage everyone reading this to find people that give you positive emotions, whether that's thrill, humor, religion-based, mournful, supportive; there's a ton of emotions and I hope you get the chance to explore all of them, while exploring yourself and this world. And on a not so depressing note, I will be dropping some music soon that I think some of you will enjoy (although it won't have vocals because I'm still sick with a really bad cough...)
