Greetings!! My name is Kit. :] I'm bisexual, and I use she/her pronouns. I'm a mixed-race person of colour (Mexican, Vietnamese, and white) and believe I could provide some poc representation as a manager. I also find queer history very interesting to study/ learn about and would love to make projects teaching about it! I have been a part of the Gaehive for two years! I'm in the PST/PDT timezone, and would likely be online throughout the day on weekdays as well as 10pm-12am on weekends. I'm 15 years old. :] I think I'd be a good manager because I get along with most people on the studio! Throughout my time being here I've gotten into very little drama/ very few arguments I also prioritize nuance when it comes to people and the assumption of good faith. Of course, there are times when people act poorly and do deserve repurcussions, but I do think it's important to give them the chance to explain themselves beforehand. Second chances are not always deserved, but I believe first chances are. In addition to that, I have gone through many things due to my mental health and I may be able to offer support to members who are going through rough times. I think some downsides to me being a manager could be the fact I go from up and down emotionally/ mentally very frequently and may not be able to be the most stable manager. That may lead to me being inactive at times or just doing/ saying things that aren't very kind. I've broken studio rules before, and I also sometimes do have issues with understanding tone/ saying things in the tone I mean. In addition to that, I struggle with writing image ID's. I'm also aware my presence off-site isn't very sfs, so that is probably also an issue (although I no longer share ways to find me off-site through here, so I'm not sure if that's relevant). I think if I were a manager I would try my best to focus on community-strengthening activities! I enjoy making playlists and uploading them onto Scratch, so I would love to make projects for that semi-often. I could also host games/ challenges! I've seen people make word-searches on here, and I think those would be fun to make. Two of my favourite things that have happened whilst being a Gaehivian were: 1) The Gaehive Court Studio. I thought and still think that was incredibly fun and silly and a great way to kinda joke around. 2) The interactive thumbnails Mellie would make when she was still a manager. I cannot code, but I would love to take inspiration from her and make similar things. I think being a manager is similar to babysitting your siblings. Yes it can be fun, but also at times it does get frustrating. It is important to make sure things are in the correct balance between being cooler than your parents (extremely strict moderation) but also preventing chaos (little to no moderation), but still in the end you have to accept you cannot control them and can only do as much as you possibly can. Responsibilities include communication with other managers, making sure to set and enforce rules with members whilst still being kind/ friendly (or at the very least not rude), and repurcussions when nessecary. For example, if the hive were to be going through a rough time (spammers/ rules being broken more often/ influx of trolls) it would be the managers' job to talk about it and decide what the best course of action would be. But, it is not their responsibility to control the hive as a whole. They are there to MANAGE, not play as a monarch. It is unreasonable to expect them to control everything. Recommendations: Matt ()!! He's very kind and interactive. He owns up to his mistakes, which is something that I think would be very good for a manager. And, just today (I think an hour or two ago) I saw him resolve someone breaking a rule by sending said person the broken rule in question + how their comment broke the rule, resolving it in a calm and informational manner. Wade (/ )!! He's very kind and I'm pretty sure he joined the hive around the same time as me! Throughout all the time I've known him he's always been very kind to me (even though we're not very close). Overall he's just very nice and I think he would make a lovely manager.
