ERIS, NOVA, and K-DNSE have hooked both fans and hesitant viewers immediately from the start. So why is it that they managed to do this? What is the method to their madness? I'll explain why, in just a moment. We all know these three as viral sensations that took over the entire S-pop community. They gained massive amounts of popularity. Racking up hundreds of views, and many loyal fans jumping for the carrot on the stick whenever something new is released. All three groups have had ingenious design and planning. Maybe they were born out of a moment while in the shower singing The Duck Song, but they all have one thing in common. They all broke a normalcy within S-pop. They though out of the box. They did what nobody else had tried to attempt. Before them, nobody had even DREAMED of doing anything past normal lookalikes. It was all K-pop, other bands, anime/tv shows, and such. These unique lookalike concepts were what made them trailblazers for ideas that are brewing, under the surface of what seems to only be S-pop. More people started using Roblox avatars to represent themselves. More people started making auditions for irl lookalike groups. More people started using the concept of "anonymous lookalikes." ERIS started to make waves, as the community started considering the possibilities of lookalikes outside of already pre-existing characters and personalities. This prompted the novel idea for NOVA to do an irl lookalike group. Of course, most of us know of the drastic change NOVA had to undergo after some incidents occurred, as a result of their new idea. It was very uncomfortable for many, as some had been very supportive of the group's identity, while others warranted it to be a safety and privacy issue. They eventually changed to a ZEPETO lookalike, personally customized to their own features. ZEPETO is somewhat similar to Roblox in some aspects, which leads me to the conclusion that ERIS mildly affected and paved a path of possibility in the minds of the NOVA members. This is not discrediting NOVA, nor glazing ERIS, but ERIS had planted a seed of new ideas in all our minds, the moment they took land onto our community. NOVA continues to be a great success, as observed since their accounts continue to be removed. We have seen the pattern of popular groups/soloists/etc. getting their projects taken down, with the likely possibility of someone jealous, or a troll. Maybe even an impulsive decision that the reporter(s) have begun to regret. But aside from that, the NOVA lookalike change sparked a further seed into the future of what K-DNSE would spark in the community. Recently, K-DNSE's debut was announced. There was no forewarning. Nobody knew. It was kept in secrecy very well. The bomb hit hardest when it was revealed that they would be using "anonymous lookalikes", which I believe might be a first, in the S-pop community. They also all use gender neutral pronouns unless further specified by members, which are a first, as far as I have seen. I would suggest this to be a reflection of the past, learning from the lesson NOVA had experienced. It counteracted the idea that there was a limitation to what S-pop could do with lookalikes. It allowed expression for the K-DNSE members. Especially since many S-poppers have been outspoken about how they identify, there has been a bit of a taboo now to use "girl group" as a term. The expression of identity also was furthermore flexible, when the K-DNSE members anonymously made accounts specifically for the group. I will stop talking now, as I'm afraid of getting accused of glazing. But my point is, ALL groups thought out of the box but also thought of previous shortcomings from their predecessors. I would like to applaud all the creative minds driving these groups, and the ones that also have yet to come. They all learn, compromise, and adapt. They take input from what they see around them, while becoming their own unique identity. This is the formula to success for the most popular groups, uncovered by yours truly: Reporter Esperanza.
