Meet the Cradle Monster :D Note that this is very much a work in progress (if it wasn't obvious enough lol) _____________________________________________ OC INFO!! NAME: Cradle Monster (AKA "Cradle" or "Mother") PRONOUNS: She / They / It (presumed female) PERSONALITY: Fiercely protective ; Extreme maternal instinct ; Will resort to violence to defend her "hoard" ; Means well despite her unorthodox methods. BACKSTORY: A creature brought into this world via a trio of powerful mages among an ancient, forgotten civilization who intended to create the perfect parental being that would ceaselessly nurture and protect orphaned human children. The problem is, the process went horribly wrong; though her parental software was functional, it was incomplete, thus every child (ranging from infants to toddlers) she senses within a 1/4 mile radius, she will locate and take them away in the night, carrying them quietly back to her lair (the interior of which is furnished to be a nursery of sorts, with makeshift cribs and hoarded toys scattered about). Therefore, nearby villagers spoke of her as an urban legend, dubbing her the "Cradle Monster", a beast said to snatch up unattended young right from their cribs in the night, dragging them off to be consumed. Of course, this was never the case (well, the consuming part at least.. The rest was pretty much true), for the stolen children were actually fiercely guarded and well cared for in her den. (I'd prefer not to go over specific details regarding how she produces sustenance for young who cannot eat solid food yet). The thing is, her adoration for children isn't a mere obsession. It's how she survives. If she doesn't collect and nurture, she isn't fulfilling her purpose, and subsequently she would tear herself apart from the intensity of her longing. FUN FACT: During the process of Sky Wyrm yoinking her into their pocket dimension, Cradle actually started going berserk over being separated from her hoard of children, so Sky Wyrm had to transport the infants with her to avoid the creature having a mental breakdown. As of now, notably further from the makeshift abodes of the other characters, Sky Wyrm supplied her another cave to care for her "adopted" young in peace, meanwhile everyone else is advised to NOT try interacting with the children due to the risk of getting instantly mauled by a very protective Cradle. :3
I actually have a lot of motivation for this one, so stay tuned!! ^^ Edit: The motivation evaporated last week, sry ;-; The backgrounds were actually hand-drawn by me using Magma (digital art program) so I'm very proud of the results lol... better than using odd PNG images, I suppose. No secrets this time, but comment down below if I should make this a series or something on YouTube :D Thinking about calling it "Pocket Arcage" maybe..
