Help me. I am trapped between four feathered simpletons. They're verbose flockmates indeed. Don't know what verbose means? Congratulations human life forms of planet Earth, (did I exaggerate?) you people have access to a wonderful gadget called the Internet, Look it up, and reread the text. I am Lavender, also known as Annoying, Smarty-Drumsticks, (chickens don't wear pants, now do they?), Cooked Meat, Hybrid Genius, (that was Lilac's favorite.), and finally, Doctor. I was always the lone star, receiving no attention from anyone. I am from the 2024 generation. Do I have siblings like Rosie? Yes, indeed I do. I had a biological twin sister named Lilac. Lilac and Lavender, inseparable friends from birth until her death. Did Rosie inform you about the Great Eagle Attack? I hope so. Well, I also experienced a major trauma from the winter of 2024. A flock of carnivorous birds entered our winter home. We didn't have a roof, for whatever reason. As the head hen of the flock charged towards me, for I was the weak one, Lilac flew in front of view and took the blow that was meant for me. She stood bravely until a magpie attacked from behind and stole her head and heart. She did say something before her demise, but I can't remember. It was somewhat like, "Live, and succeed our research." Mother Hen eventually took Lilac's body and buried her by Laura's body. I never encountered this Laura, but Rosie inquired me with biased information that she was a wise sentinel. She always sensed danger in enough time before it occurred. It would have been nice if Laura was our sentinel, because Garnet does an abhorrent job at it. When Lilac and I were still unnamed offspring, we had a brother we called Moss. My father was a horrible father, so I attacked Moss, thinking that Moss acted so much like Father. He was taken away the day after. The other 2024 generation hens/ adopted siblings are Sunshine and Garnet, Rhode Island Red half-sisters. Sunshine's mother, Poppy, mated with her father, Rust. In the human world, mating with other humans that is not your mating partner is considered this interesting word: cheating. However, in the superior chicken race, it's by instinct for a rooster to mate with at least 10 hens in the standard-sized world. Rust also mated with Garnet's mother, Ash and seven others. Spice, Ruby, Jolene, Phoenix, Sparky, Tulip, and Sequoia were the names. Sunshine and Garnet also had another half-sister named Cedar. A magpie approached the summer minor coop in the summer of 2024 and feasted on Cedar's weak body. The heat that day was unbearable, and I know because I grew up with the red hens since I was eight weeks old. Cedar suffered a heat stroke when the sun shines at my eyes at a precise angle to lose my sight. Magpies can sense this for some reason. I will pass this entry to our sentinel or should I say, our epic failure who is treated like a celebrity in the coop?
