12/1/2025, 12:54 PM EST Welcome to S-POP WEEKLY's special report. Today's topic is Simon's ARG, which deserves a lot more love with how thought-out it is. I was surprised to see that no one else has theorized about it so far. I can't go into detail about where, exactly, I found every piece of the story because this ARG is very long (as S-pop lore comes) and would call for going over the description length limit. I'll just try to explain the timeline from what I've found. This is just a theory, not an official explanation, so don't treat it as such! I likely got many things wrong! (TW: Themes of mental illness) Since 2006, Cain has worked as a hotline operator. He's rather troubled, as you'd expect, from both things he's heard from callers and many personal reasons. He talked to the girl in Moon Girl over the hotline once but, tragically, could not stop her from acting on her self-destructive thoughts. Charm, possibly a friend or brother of Moon Girl's, was deeply saddened by this. He started masking his trauma, and eventually turned to an entity called Unity to help rid himself of it and bring Moon Girl back to life. Unity "targets those who are not using their bodies," which I think means people with severe trauma. Back to Cain for a minute, though. In 2008, he started seeing "pairs of eyes" everywhere, that he was both terrified of and strangely drawn to. He wrote this down in his diary. He soon talked to a girl named Jinxx over the hotline, who was living in fear of something she doesn't name, but we later find out that thing was Unity, who starts to influence Cain, too. He sees into other universes and sees only one where he isn't suffering. Years pass, and the three personas under Unity's influence start to grow tired of it. Jinxx realizes continuing to wallow in depression isn't helping her, or anyone else's, situation. Because Cain and Charm are too far down the hole to bounce back so quickly, she tries to overwrite Unity's power over them on her own, which leaves Unity weak and Charm beginning to recover from the damage Unity did to him. At this time, Jinxx and Charm are free, however traces of Unity still linger in Jinxx, leaving her hesitant to speak and write. Unity's last-ditch effort is possessing Cain, who did not recover as fast as the others, and thus can be more easily manipulated. Jinxx and Charm find out soon and try as best as possible to conceal it and keep the battle between them and Unity, throwing away Cain's old notebook that documented his experience with Unity. But as Cain is possessed for longer, the harder it will become to free him. That's where the story leaves off as of November 2025, with Jinxx and Charm struggling to free Cain of Unity's grasp. Anything I missed or misinterpreted? Let me know in the comments. Here are some extra details I picked up on, but couldn't find a place in the theory for: • Unity isn't a physical construct. Yes, there's art depicting them as a humanoid but I find it odd that they're the only character with no Scratch account of their own---maybe the fact that they've only spoken through other characters' accounts tells us that they always need a vessel of some sort that is a physical construct? • I have a couple of unanswered questions about Moon Girl: One, whose perspective is the song set from? It's definitely either Cain or Charm since they were the ones trying to help Moon Girl through her bout of depression, and two, who/what is the "monster?" Unity? But I thought both Cain and Charm hadn't dealt with Unity until after Moon Girl died. Unless the song is set after Moon Girl dies. I'm not confident about that theory, but.... • Who is Sun Boy? For now, I'm thinking Charm because it could be about him masking his grief over Moon Girl. The lyric "I'm thrilled to have you in my head" suggests it's from Unity's perspective? Now that I'm seeing it from that lens, the whole song could be forced "I understand you" bribery Unity is doing to manipulate Charm. If this is manipulation, saying the monster has "seen the light" further reinforces my theory of the monster being Unity, who is acting like Charm is their "light" to lure him in. • Some specific details in the Canva document linked in the project titled "COME BACK TO ME." on , but I noticed it calls Unity a "beast," furthering my theory. • If there's any major details I got wrong, they likely have to do with the upside down text. I may have missed something, but I don't think it's ever explicitly stated who writes the upside down text, so I tried to place clues that use it based on context from past clues. Apologies. Simon, if you're reading this, I'd appreciate you officially confirming anything I got right because I'll use it as a basis for part 2. Thank you!
