ROLES: Main Character (Spaceship Pilot, Female, She/Her) Name: Captain Lyra Role Description: Lyra is the intrepid pilot of the exploration vessel, the "Prism". She is driven by a deep curiosity about the universe but has always felt a sense of personal ambiguity or "static" within herself. Her journey across the galaxy to discover new, vibrant worlds is a metaphor for her own internal exploration and coming to terms with her burgeoning sexual identity. Supporting Roles (The Planets' Keepers) Each character is a representative of a unique planet and serves as a guide to Lyra, helping her understand different facets of identity. Gay Character (Man, He/Him) Name: Orion (or "Ri" for short) Planet: Amorea Role Desc: Male voice. From a world of profound beauty and harmony, Orion is a confident and charismatic individual. He helps Lyra see that love and attraction are not uniform but a spectrum of valid, brilliant experiences, represented by the vibrant colors of his home planet, which change with the emotional "tide." Lesbian Character (She/Her) Name: Cassia (full name Cassiopeia) Planet: Prideos Role Desc: Female voice, calm. Cassia hails from a fierce and protective all-female society that thrives on partnership and community. She challenges Lyra to embrace strength and self-sufficiency, showing her the power and beauty of attraction between women, a bond as ancient and strong as the star constellation she is named after. Pansexual Character (She/Her) Name: Nova Planet: Ceres Role Desc: Female voice, mature. Nova comes from a planet with a constantly shifting and "explosive" environment, mirroring the limitless nature of her attraction. She is energetic, open-minded, and playful. Nova teaches Lyra about the expansive possibilities of love, which can be found across all gender identities, not just the male/female binary. Bisexual Character (Man, He/Him) Name: Atlas Planet: Xylos Role Desc: Male voice, mature. The "world-bearer," Atlas is a steady and thoughtful character from a binary star system. He embodies the balance and duality of being attracted to both men and women, demonstrating that holding space for multiple attractions is not a contradiction but a complete and whole identity in itself. Transgender Character (they/them) Name: Auria Planet: Vespera Role Desc: Neutral Voice, calm. Auria is the trans, possibly a celestial being, who greets Lyra in the Trans planet. Auria represents the profound journey of self-discovery and transformation, teaching Lyra that true identity is an internal light, a powerful "aura," that shines regardless of one's initial form or the expectations of others. PLOT (There is a musical number by the people on the planets on each planet) Act I: The Void and The Call Lyra is the dutiful pilot of the Voyager, flying through a structured, monochrome galaxy. She follows the binary rules of her society but feels an unspoken yearning for something more vibrant. When a navigational "malfunction" guides her into the mythical Nebula of Identity, she begins a journey not just through space, but toward belonging. Act II: Identity Lyra lands on the various planets, meeting the representatives. Each encounter is less about just "learning a definition" and more about finding a piece of a community she never knew existed. As she speaks with each person, they describe the connections they share with others like them. By the time she reaches the final planet (Pansexual), all the representatives from the other planets are there, having formed their own interconnected alliance and support system within the nebula. The Act II finale ("Found in the Cosmos") is an emotional ensemble number where Lyra doesn't just watch; she participates. She realizes these aren't just definitions, but people—her people.
