here is a really cool engine. the pennsylvania railroad S2 turbine was a failed experiment. it was, as you could guess, a steam locomotive with a turbine built into it. but the engine was very, very slow at low speeds, it was only efficient at high speeds, and could not start up very well. due to that and the overwhelming maintenance it needed, it was put out of service. this is definitely my favorite experimental engine
