Here are some notes on the rankings for each team: Rams: Stafford is the hottest he's ever been and this team is a contender for sure. Broncos: The defense has stepped up and that's why they are at the top. Patriots: Drake Maye is a human highlight reel, and the Patriots are top of the AFC. Bills: They need some work in finding a top receiver, but they are still great on both sides of the ball. 49ers: How they are 1/2 a game behind the top seed in the NFC with all the injuries, I don't know, but they have been fantastic and Purdy is back. Seahawks: They are the team no one wants to play at the moment, but we'll see if Sam Darnold and the running game can find some consistency. Eagles: Yes, I know they won last year's Super Bowl, but Saquon has slowed down, and the O line is plagued with injuries. Their record is why they are here though. Bears: Caleb Williams is doing great, and this offense is on a roll, especially with the running game. We'll see if they can address their defense though. Texans: What a defense. This defense has pummeled team after team and as long as the offense puts in a decent showing, they are headed for success. Packers: This side is getting better, but they aren't a team to look out for, yet. Colts: What happened to them? They were 7-1 at one point, and now they are struggling to make the playoffs! If Johnathan Taylor can get back to form though, watch out. Chargers: The Chargers have won 4 of their last 5 and are right on the Broncos heels for the division. Jaguars: This team is doing a lot better, but they need to be more consistent if they want to be taken seriously. Cowboys: Wow what a turnaround. They have changed from being afterthoughts to playoffs contenders. The job is far from done though. Ravens: Yes I know many of you are saying in your head, "What!?! The Ravens a C!?!" Well, they are 6-6, Lamar is clearly not healthy, and Derrick Henry has slowed from his 2024 form, so... Lions: A team that looked like a Super Bowl contender before the season is now suddenly struggling to make the playoffs. However, they have everything they need and hopefully for them it is only a matter of time until they go on a run. Bucs: This team is suddenly struggling. After start off hot and looking like they could take the top spot, the Bucs only have a half-game lead over the Panthers (as the time of this writing. Can they turn their season around? Chiefs: What a big fall. The Chiefs are struggling after a season where they were 15-2. Mahomes may be doing well but the rest of the team has to as well. Bengals: The reason why they are not lower: They got Joe Burrow back and the defense looks better. The reason why they not higher: They are 4-8. Panthers: This team is one of the wildest in the league, with up and downs and up and downs. However, the side is coming together and they are still fighting for a spot in the playoffs. Falcons: Bad, very bad. The Falcons may have Bjan Robinson, but they are still losing. What looked like a promising season has turned into another bad one. Steelers: How it go so wrong? The bad news: They are 6-6 and have lost their last 5 out of 6. The good news? They still hold a share of 1st in their division. Dolphins: The Dolphins are actually still in the hunt. After a 1-7 start, the Dolphins have won 4 straight and have a light schedule. De'von Achane is having the season of his life and there is no reason why it shouldn't continue. Commanders: How the mighty have fallen. After last year's miracle run to the conference final, the Commanders are all but out of it as the final stretch approaches. At least Jayden Daniels will come back soon. Cardinals: This team keeps losing close games. It's becoming a matter of rebuilding, and it looks like Kyle Murray will be gone from Arizona. Raiders: Pete Caroll wanted to make the Raiders into competitors in his first season with them. They are anything but. Geno Smith will probably be gone by the end of this year and this team is eliminated from playoff contention. At least they have Brock Bowers and Ashton Jeanty. Vikings: Will the Vikings find a solution at QB? After losing Sam Darnold and Daniel Jones to free agency, they lost another QB to injury. J.J. Mcarthy hasn't done so well and unless something changes, the future won't be looking bright for Minesota. Jets: The Jets may be out of playoff contention, but they plenty of draft capital. Plus, Breece Hall is doing pretty good. Saints: Not much is looking good, but at least they found a decent QB and K. Browns: The Browns are pretty entertaining due to Myles Garrett and Sanders and this season is about evaluating Sanders. Giants: What else could go wrong for them? Cam Skattebo landed on the IR, Jaxon Dart got evaluated for a concussion, and they are eliminated from playoff contention. There's always next year. Titans: Cam Ward is getting better with every game, but this has been a disaster of a season.
