Falconry is the ancient practice of hunting wild game by means of a trained raptor; this raptor is not trained for pets nor praise, but it's survival. If you wish to follow this forum to do falconry in near or far future, do not expect it to be easy when or if you ever gain hands-on experience. It is a LIFE COMMITMENT. I haven't had any experience yet, but I wanted to put this disclaimer for you all. This message will be put on all notes & credits of this forum. If you are going to put a project up for the purpose of this forum, please copy and paste this into your notes & credits somewhere. Whether I use either of them, Hawk, or falcon, can refer to both species. (I mostly use hawk for hawks & falcons, and raptors either for that and owls, or for just in general.) Random fun facts: owls & ospreys have 2 backwards facing toes. (The osprey's second toe is reversible though and adapted for catching fish.) Credits: A Macaw guy who was once a falconer that I met at a random pet store for some insight to put the disclaimer. "Glossary of falconry terms" for most of the words & Meaning
