Cross your eyes and you might see an unstable flash of colours, but if you're one of the lucky few you might see a colour that your brain struggles to name. PS. Press space to change Octarine
Forbidden Colours are another type of Impossible Colour, they're colours made from colours that are the opposite of each other, or in other words, they're made from colours that are complementary to each other. The Opponent Process is when you put colours against their complementaries: Red vs. Green Orange vs. Cyan Yellow vs. Blue Lime vs. Magenta or Purple This is how we see: Step 1. In your eyes there are LMS (corresponding to RGB) photoreceptors called cones in your eyes, they mix different RGB values to see the colour you're looking at. Step 2. This is where the Opponent Process comes in, there are two receptors that can be labelled r-g and b-y, in r-g which stands for Red vs. Green states that Red is negative (-), Green is positive (+) and any colour inbetween will look whitish, the same thing with b-y (Blue vs. Yellow), Blue is positive (+) and Yellow is negative (-). Imagine seeing a colour that is Reddish-Green or Bluish-Yellow, that's what Forbidden Colours are. Other Forbidden Colours: 3. Octarine: Greenish-Magenta or Limish-Purple, I don't want to talk about fantasy but, they say only cats and "wizards" can see it (NOT TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). 4. Dark White (Light Black): Black and white at the same time, not gray, not B&W, but a whole new neutral color!
