INTRO I've noticed that lately people have been forgetting how to interact with storage. Things such as not mentioning names when splitting exp or doing anything relating to your character and talking in storage threads have become common as well as a couple other unfavorable things. This is a project of the do's and dont's of being on and doing things with a storage and the storage person. FORMATTING Exp splitting - When asking for your exp to be split please include your character's name (no nicknames) and how you want it split in a stealth/strength format. This makes it easier for storages to figure out what goes where instead of just saying "Put 6 unused in stealth and 4 in strength." with this we don't know who your character is to split their exp and have to go digging. Deleting characters - Please state your character's name (no nicknames) and reason for being removed whether that be moving or deleting them entirely out of Gens. We'll give you your final stats when they've been deleted. Litter registration - When asking for litters to be added into storage the kits need to be in a "namekit | @user | 0 | 0 | 1" format with the litter link copied behind it. Please don't use any other symbols or anything in between because that leaves more work for us to have and change the symbols or put them in the format ourselves. Also please note that the litter host registers the whole litter, not the individual kit owners. ETIQUETTE Death claiming - No. Nonono. It is rude to the rper if they say their beloved character is dying and you go 'Awww that's a shame. Now let me milk their death of all it's worth with my own cat!!' It's insensitive and even the owner of the entire rp has addressed this and said don't do that. So don't. Be respectful of the death of their cat and don't pressure them to let you come and use their cat to add to your kill count. Talking on the storage - It's mostly just a pet peeve of mine but if you don't NEED to say something about something. Don't. If you want to talk to someone go to their profile. If it's something like correcting a mistake or editing your own things because you want something different than you originally did, then yes go for it. But if it's coming into storage to talk about potatoes or smth I'd prefer not. (though pointing out smth funny like my typo with Elverleap is fine it makes me giggle and is helpful. But nothing else off topic) For storages on people's mains, ABOLUTELY DO NOT talk any more than you have to. It buries everything. Apt/exp - Guys. Please. Stop coming to storage about missing apt/exp. There's a coordinator for that just go to the staff studio and find them. We don't run apt/exp we just input the numbers given. Plus, apt/exp isn't reported in 3 days. Wait at least 2 weeks before starting to think 'my stuff is missing; I need to get this fixed' Don't report your threads to us, don't ask about it on storage. I'll include a section about staff who you should go to instead of storage later. Blaming - Don't assume things done wrong is all the storage's fault. It isn't always and if it is it was probably just plain human error, and I apologize for that. If you have an issue, make sure to check with whoever is the head of that particular problem and if it's storage then yes point it out for me. Be patient - Don't ping messages when it's been a day or when it's less than a week old. I promise we'll get to it. Most of the storages have specific days they update and don't do it everyday of the week. Other staff - All of this goes for everyone else in the staff as well. Don't bother the rolling project or the exp/apt reporters about apt or exp. If it's missing, go to the missing apt/exp coordinator, if it hasn't been counted, wait. It takes a while to count exp and sometimes people are a bit late. Don't bother them. This also includes not asking other people about storage related things we can take care of. That's our job, not anyone else's. Don't go to the exp/apt coordinator asking for your exp to be split. Don't get snappy - If you disrespect us or try and attack us for doing our job you're not going to be met with kindness and understanding. You shouldn't sound like you're accusing us of some terrible crime because that makes us feel bad. Don't excessively bother us about something either unless it's extremely important. And I mean extremely important. If you come to our main profiles pestering us to split your 1 exp into strength we will not be happy, and we'll take it up with one of the moderators if it gets annoying. STAFF All other staff members you may need to contact if you have an issue are listed in the staff studio: OUTRO I may have missed a couple things, but I'll add them if I see it necessary to address something.
