Patrol alone was always dreadfully boring, not to mention the fact that Iri was constantly on-edge at every bubble that passed them. But, as it turned out, invaders of SharkClan territory were to be the least of her worries. ~ Six kits, all well before their apprentice moons, and at least one of which looked barely old enough to be weaned, had hidden themselves away in a crevice on the cliff side, but Iridescentgaze had spotted them because of something incredible - while six of the kits had sharp fins made for speed and colors designed to blend in with their surroundings, a single youngling was brightly colored with a frilled, fanned-out cherryflower pink tail. A bettacat, far away from the SharkClan and BettaClan border, with a litter of sharkcats? It seemed improbable. But someone would have to take in these kits, no matter the species. ~ Though Iridescentgaze didn't know it, the six kits weren't abandoned in SharkClan territory. Instead, they had been first found within the deep lands of AnglerClan's territory, the parents of the litters unknown to any cats but the parents themselves. However, AnglerClan wasn't as welcoming to the kits as SharkClan was. The leader of the anglercats, Swimstar, took the kits and left them in the crevasse to starve and die - if Iridescentgaze hadn't discovered them, they wouldn't have made it much longer.
