ok warrior cat fannys, I need to have a talk with y'all. and no before you go reporting me, this isn't hate on the warrior cats fandom; I love warrior cats anyways onto the rant recently a well known warrior cats creator in the scratch community known as @GazerOfStars has gotten hate for allowing a ship between their comic characters to happen. The following shiped characters are both named Lightpaw and Opaquestar. Star said Lightpaw is around 12 moons, a near warrior. Opaquestar is also around that age, making the ship compatible. However, implications of the ship dropped before the comic put this across. By then, it was also put across lightpaw was around 12 moons. The hate Star got was insane, people assumed Opaquestar was around 20-30~, the average age for a young leader like Opaque. However, she should've NEVER got hate in the first place. hear me out before you call me a weirdo. MOONS. ARE. NOT. YEARS. most people know this, most people know moons are months... so why is the fandom interpreting them as years? people go crazy when people ship a warrior cat with another warrior cat that has a 10+ moon age difference. Guys. 10 moons isn't a year. 12 moons is a year. In the wild, Wild cats can have mates 2 years older than them, sometimes even older. That means it's completely fine if a 25 moon old cat dates a 49 year old cat. Its normal. Warrior Cats are wildcats. That's normal. Moons aren't years. While agreeing an apprentice dating isn't really... subtlety, people took to a whole different level, sending Star threats and calling her a... not a very nice word. Guys. MOONS ARE NOT YEARS. This is why Ivypool x Fernsong was compatible, this is why Ferncloud x Dustpelt was compatible, this was why Bramblestar or Ashfur x Squirrelflight was compatible. so please.
