Lore here (at least put a founding date): The Kingdom of Karelia is a northern realm known for its vast spruce forests, icy lakes, and strong warrior traditions. Though small in population, it is respected, sometimes feared, for its resilience, its fiercely guarded independence, and the mysterious spiritual powers rumored to dwell in its wilderness. The Fractured North (Before the Kingdom) For centuries, the land that would become Karelia was divided among: Forest clans who lived by hunting and trapping Lake settlements that relied on fishing Highland tribes renowned for their ironworking These groups often traded… or fought. Rise of the First King: According to legend, a warlord named Nerdanum Klosteroyster united the clans after defeating the monstrous Shadow Elk, a creature said to embody the hatred between tribes. When the beast fell, the clans agreed to join under one banner. Thus, the Kingdom of Karelia was founded, with Nerdanum crowned the First King. Religion: Karelians believe the forests are alive with spirits: - Lake spirits that bless fishermen - Stone guardians of the mountains - Forest wraiths that punish oathbreakers Now our country is modernized with Christianity, but no one said that these mysterious forces do not exist... Legend tells us that if our Kingdom is threatened, the Shadow Wolf of the Mountains will come and protect his clan. Military: The Frost Guard Elite soldiers known for white-painted armor blending into snowy terrain. Their specialty: Ambush tactics Fighting in freezing conditions The White Fleet Karelia’s small but fast navy, built to quickly and efficiently navigate icy lakes and shallow coastal waters. Economy: Main Exports: Iron and steel weapons Timber Fur and leather Lake pearls (highly prized) Trade Struggles: Harsh winters often isolate the kingdom, so Karelians store huge food reserves and rely heavily on their craftsmen. Karelia’s diplomacy is built on caution: Friendly with nations that respect its forests and borders. Hostile toward expansionist empires or industrial nations that over-harvest nature. Neutral toward far-off kingdoms, preferring minimal entanglement. Upon the death of his Father, Nerdanum III, Nerdanum IV now controls the crown. (Nerdanum IV is me lol) My hands are tired lol
