I got hit by a car riding my bike home from school. It was a very big black car and there was a hedge, so I couldn't see the car until it was too late. As soon as I saw the car, I watched my life flash before my eyes as I swerved and got knocked to the ground. The world span before my eyes and suddenly I found myself on the ground, with my right leg's shin in between the front wheel and the bike. My right leg in particular was very scratched and bruised, as it took most of the impact as I hit the ground, and now it's throbbing a little bit. I panicked and immediately checked for any broken bones. I was fine. Just some scratches. My friend whom I had been riding with watched in shock and horror. I think he's traumatised. T^T I got up quickly as the guy who hit me rushed out of his car, asking me in broken English many questions like, 'Are you okay' 'Do you need anything' or 'I am very sorry' many times. I assured him I was alive and well, just some scratches. He helped me pick up my bike. I inspected my bike and realised that the chain had been removed off the gears on the pedal. But I didn't panic, just sighed and said: "My dad lives nearby, I'll just walk to his house and drop off my bike for fixing and maintenance. I said goodbye to my friend and the guy and started walking. When I got to my dad's house, his girlfriend walked out to throw out a cardboard box and saw me. She asked me why I was there. I started to speak, but for some reason I started to cry as I explained. Later, she told me it was because my body was reacting strongly to the accident in shock. Now, I still cry when I think about it. Anyways, I got patched up, had a Zooper Dooper, talked with my dad and his girlfriend, then they dropped me off home. My Mum was very worried and so was my brother. They were happy I was okay and checked on me. Later, I said I wanted to go to my friend's house since he saw me get hit, to make sure he knew I was okay and safe with my family. My Mum and his dad chatted for a little bit, then we left. Now, I'm typing this to say: be careful when riding past driveways with hedges blocking your vision, make sure to slow down and check. I don't want anyone else to experience anything close to what I did.
Thanks for the support guys! Don't worry, I'm doing fine now, just have a little PTSD from it.
