Of Birds and Cats - the full history of major events Music by @Ym2612 -- (5 years ago) In a forest where cats ate birds, there was a large family of birds and an even bigger family of cats. Cats and birds were everywhere, but these families were more important. The family of cats searched for prey, and ate things like voles, mice, and most importantly, birds. During the winter where many birds migrated, the cats targeted the family of birds, called The Beaks. It wasn't just one species. It was a large collection of small birds, from robins and finches to chickadees and jays. They were hunted to the point where a bird's life's purpose is mainly about surviving; it wasn't about entertainment anymore. Two birds, Flame and Moss, who were blue jays, were running away from a black cat with piercing yellow eyes called Stream in the night when suddenly the jays saw a vision. The wind blew and made a picture; a bird and a cat, but they didn't run or chase, they seemed to be at peace. And when the vision wore off, Stream was nowhere to be seen. (4.75 years ago) Flame and Moss told The Beaks what had happened a few months ago. A great elderly cardinal, Winter, told them about a prophecy linked to the vision, stating that 'the witnesses of the vision will see the picture come to life'. Winter said that it means that one day, birds and cats will make peace, but it'll still take a long time. The day after, Flame and Moss were out to look for food in a space that has been cleared of cats, when they saw something in the mist. It wasn't physically visible, but it told them to mate. They did, and by taking great care of the 3 eggs Moss laid, the eggs hatched into chicks that they called Leafstem, Figtree and Hailstorm. (4 years ago) Leafstem unfortunately was eaten by Whisker, a colourful orange-white cat. Sometimes she felt sorry for her meal. Figtree grew into a brave jay, and Hailstorm was the strongest of all. One day, Hailstorm saw a vision - it was him, and a cat that looked just like Whisker. When he saw Whisker looking for prey in a patch of flowers, Whisker saw him, her eyes glowed, and told him the great story of birds and cats, and how peace is yet to be restored. When the glow disappeared, Whisker disappeared too. (3 years ago) Hailstorm is now old enough to embark on a dangerous mission to talk to the cats, as the sun's beating rays whispered it into Flame and Hailstorm. Unfortunately, Moss has been taken to the stars with Whisker, and who knows what exactly happened next. Moss just became a wisp of starlight and floated away. With Figtree with him, Hailstorm flew to the cats. Figtree stopped the cats from attacking while Hailstorm announced the great story of birds and cats. Near the end, every cat saw a vision of the future, if they made peace and if they kept hunting birds. After the courageous mission, Figtree told the leader of The Beaks, a sparrow named Stripe, that the cat family were apparently named "The Thistles", and Hailstorm also told what happened when the cats heard the story. -- Today, the leader of The Thistles, Thorn, his deputy, Deer, and three other cats believe that making peace is the right thing to do. However, many other cats think that continuing to hunt the birds is the best way to do this. Hailstorm and Figtree must convince everyone that things should be peaceful. And, they are yet to tell the great story of birds and cats to free-roaming cats and birds not part of any family. Will everyone promise to be peaceful to each other? Will the cats all agree to continue hunting birds in their sight, destroying the agreement to stop hunting them? Or will a compromise change the course of birds and cats? One day, more about what happened to the disappearing cats and Moss will be discovered. More prophecies will be spoken and more visions will be witnessed. But for now, let's focus on the peace...
