Corporations are at the forefront of every political discussion, either they are forces of evil that only look to harm people or the only way a country can thrive. Neither perspective is correct. A business is an organization which owns a portion of the means of production. Like every organization, they are crucial, they have little difference from countries; yet, they always have the same structure. Why is this? Why is there always a monarch at the top of every company? It is all about money, that person at the top is either the founder (The man who gathered all the funding and organized everything) or someone the torch of organizing everything was passed to. This is either a descendant of the founder (Which literally makes that company a monarchy-) or they used manipulation and played the game of power to be handed the throne. The only other structure is if your company is owned by investors, they provided the money and thus own the company. Workers desire the ownership of the means of production, they want a say in how businesses operate, that's what communism is about. Today more than ever, we see CEOs sacrificing their companies for profit. They make short-sighted decisions to basically run away with money while the shareholders suffer or they sell it to Private Equity. This is how Elon Musk became the world's richest man, he gain power in each company or bought them, improved them and then sold them, not caring about the people in companies. This is HORRIBLE for the economy- Blame who you want, something NEEDS to change. I fully support workers being able to elect their managers, not the CEO, I believe that should be up to each company. Countries have diverse governing bodies, yet companies don't. What if companies were founding by groups of workers pitching their money together for a shared vision? We don't have companies owned by the workers only because of culture. We see companies as Duchies owned by nobility, so we treat them like that. They are simply organizations that control part of the means of production. They figure out what most people want, convince them to support the business, etc. Their purpose is not to be exploited so the top 1% of managers can walk away with all the money. Everyone in America can agree we want a small business economy, with that kind of economy workers could unite and found their own companies. If monopolies in America were dissolved and we changed our attitudes towards companies, we could all improve our lives. Companies affect every aspect of our lives, they are like their own kingdoms. Organizations like Churches have diverse bodies of governance, so why not companies?
