These people are called Shifters. Families pass down forms tied to their bloodline, and awakenings (around 12-14) are expected. Occasionally, someone is born into a non-transforming family, awakens late or transforms into something their bloodline isn’t known for. These people tend to get silently judged. Children of these families go to a special school where they learn how to control their forms, as well as learn other ‘normal things’ Selene came from a family of fox shifters. They were all quiet, and preferred to watch from the shadows. However, she was different. She always the one to start a conversation, the one to speak up for others. Her mother also used to say that the cried the loudest out of her siblings. When she finally transformed, she didn’t have a snout or fur.
