Helloooooooo So Uh I read this book called Rainbow in the Dark the other day And it is very good and you should go read it too (It's not for everybody and it has some dark themes but it is very good) And the majority is in second person, and it was the first non choose-your-own-adventure book that I had read that was in second person That made me realize that I had never (literally NEVER) written in second person before so uhh... here ya go I guess. I decided on Dark for POV randomly lol ChoDark my beeannns word count: 707 here we go ###### It’s early morning, the sun starting to rise up from behind the distant forest, and you stand on the edge of the cliff, breathing in the crisp frozen air. It smells like snow, and even though it’s below freezing, your bare shoulders are exposed to the air. The sky is spattered with clouds rushing along gently, the wind brushing the back of your neck. You stare up into the sky, the golden pink light bathing everything in a glowing halo. Your eyes narrow at how bright everything is. Too bright. They begin to ache, so you close them and let the comforting darkness envelop you. You stand there, existing in darkness for a moment. The trees rustle in the wind, the grass snapping and bending in rhythm behind you. A voice calls out to you, and you stiffen up. Something starts to burn under your skin, prickling and shivering. Your shoulders straighten, your neck stiffens. Not again. Before it can get any worse, you force your eyes open and whirl around to the stick behind you, grabbing their outstretched arm and digging your nails into the wrist on instinct. You freeze in place for a moment. The back of your eyes feel like they’re disintegrating, tears starting to cloud your vision. They escape and flow down your cheeks, freezing on your face instantly, and now you can see Chosen’s stunned visage clearly in the dim blue light of the morning. They aren’t breathing, just sort of staring at you with their lips in a tight line. Their eyes are a fiery red, and widened so much you can see the sun glint off the sclera. They manage to stutter a few words. “You- your eyes…” You snatch your arm back instantly, letting their wrist free and burying your face in your hands. Your heart seems to vibrate against your chest, humming through your stomach in a way that makes you want to throw up. You curse, sputtering as your knees give out and you sink into the dewy grass below. You feel something warm across your shoulders, your slick skin suddenly shielded from the wind. Chosen has wrapped their arm around you, and now they pull your hands away from your face, looking you straight in the eye. “Hey. You’re ok. I’m ok.” You stare down at their arm, their black skin dotted by red crescents where your nails dug into them. “God, I’m so sorry,” you cough. “I felt it coming on, and I thought- I thought if I left, it wouldn’t-” Your eyes are back to not feeling like they’re about to rip out of your skull. That’s good. “It’s ok. You had no way of knowing.” Chosen says it again. They’re probably trying to make you feel better. They shuffle on the grass in front of you and grab you by the wrist again. It feels good, their body heat against yours, keeping you in place. “Listen to me. We will figure this out.” Will you? It’s getting harder and harder to believe things will change, harder and harder to leave Chosen’s sleeping form untouched by your blood-colored hands in the dead of night. It’s harder to snap out of it when it happens, the pain that takes over your whole body and tells you that they need to be destroyed. Chosen slips their arm under yours and lifts you up, and before they can even take a step you turn around and wrap your arms around them. They grunt a little but lean in as well, and you stand like that for a moment. Their heat against yours, the sun starting to rise above your heads, shining off Chosen’s hair into a beautiful red hue. Shadows cast by you dip into a pool of deep black. It really makes you realize how much you love them, how much you want to hold them close, how much you want to let them keep living. For this moment, you can try. You can try to pretend that things are ok, that above all, Chosen will be ok. You hope they will be. But in the end, it’s not your choice. In the end, you’re not the one in control. You’re the one who lost it. ###### :)))))))))) Yea so I hope you enjoyed that hehe Wish it was longer... this was originally gonna be totally different but it spurred off in its own direction so this is what you got now. I've also got another one-shot that I will be posting on friday, based on the new episode! So stay tuned for that lol
