art tutorial for hail!! <33

foreward - woohoo i was hoping to make one of these projects lol this is convinent!! <33 anywhoo let's get into this!! tutorial - 1. sketch ok so duh you start with a sketch. i usually start with a circle for the head, ears, floof, body, etc for cats because that's easier for me lol. y'all can do whatever you want tho! 2. sketch pt 2 this step is a bit more complicated haha. it's like a rough draft before the original lineart ig, where you can also kinda trace out the shading (note: it's meant to be messy so dw!! <3) 3. line art this is supposed to be smooth xD but scratch quality strikes again. i usually add like basic shading line thingies?? idk what to call them, but, again, you don't need to do any of this! 4. base color yep. i bet you already guesses it haha. it's just the most prominent color on the design and like a guide for more small details. for plutonium, it's a yellowy color for example :D 5. more details. as described in the previous step, extra details are put onto the original base color (i like to do it at another layer) and the colors are complete yayyy!! again, (i cannot emphasis this enough lol) you do not need to follow exactly for any of these! 1!1! do what helps you the best y'all!!! 6. shading wow i wonder what this step could be about. yep it's shading!! tbh shading for me is just scribbling randomly over the matte colors until i get smth i vaguely think counts as shading and/or looks nice; i don't expect you to scribble like this <-- lol 7. lighting same as shading wow. yeah idk what to say about this 8. background imao backgrounds are painful and unnecessary but i'm including them on this tutorial anyways because that s fun ig!! and some ppl like bgs haha. anyways idk what to say about this either, i usually just scribbbles some more xD 9. lettering yeh just write the name of the character, the title of the piece, whatever you think fits lol. this is optional btw, like all the other steps /pos. and also don't draw inspiration from my ugly handwriting ewwww i couldn't even fit plutoniums full name :'D 10. name yeah sign your work and look!!! boom your done congratulations you read all of this i tap you on the head with my magic wand now you have magical art abilities good job y'all
