On February 24, 2017, Team Cherry produced Hollow Knight, a metroidvania about a mysterious knight who journeys a desolate Hallownest, in order to find the source of a lethal plague outbreak. As of the creation of this project, Hollow Knight has sold more than 15 million copies. On February 14, 2019, the sequel to this game, Silksong, was announced. It came out about seven years later, on September 4, 2025. As of the creation of this project, Silksong has sold more than 7 million copies. Now, a little bit over 3 months after Silksong's release, a FREE Switch 2 exclusive DLC was announced on December 15, 2025 (today), named "Sea of Sorrow." This could be the "land of storms" mentioned in the Godhome DLC for Hollow Knight! It will supposedly bring a new, nautical theme to Silksong, with new areas, bosses, tools, and continued adventures for Hornet. Additionally, a Nintendo Switch 2 version is going to be added to Hollow Knight, bringing better graphics and hopefully patching any oversights. Lifeblood should be coming back with a vengeance, too! These updates are set to release in 2026, exact date unknown.
