As a gifted kid, being an overachiever is normal. But getting normal or average grades feels like failing. Being bad at something, anything, makes you hate it. Help makes you feel weak. You're supposed to be the next generation of doctors, physicists, inventors who will save the world. So when you're not perfect, you feel like you've failed. It's okay. Getting help is hard, but it shows that you're strong enough to step back and accept that you can't be good at everything AT FIRST. If you feel like a failure, just remember that everyone struggles.
Based on my experience as a gifted kid.
