Hey peeps! (◕ ワ ◕✿) ----------------------------------- I’ve been noticing a lot of confusion about this featured project (as of December 17th) by @seriouslyscratchy1: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1238399568 People are saying that it’s just like the mobile app game “Crossy Road.” Some people are even saying it’s a ripoff! But this makes me a little mad, because this isn’t true at all! (•ˋ _ ˊ•) Still, as a fellow young person, I can understand. I would have thought the same thing if not for my brother’s mini arcade game collection. So let me explain. ♥︎ “Get The Frog Out Of Here!.” is actually based on Crossy Road’s predecessor, Frogger. Frogger was a popular arcade game that came out in 1981, in the Arcade Golden Age. It was a massive success, well known for its addictive and challenging gameplay. It was THE pioneer of the crossing game genre. What was it like to play Frogger? Well the gameplay is pretty much the same as Get The Frog Out Of Here except obviously you would have used a joystick. Ask an adult in your life if they remember Frogger. They probably do! Meanwhile, Crossy Road came out in 2014, and it was very much inspired by Frogger. Crossy Road isn’t the og. Frogger is. And that’s what this game is based on!
