The initial Aldranian advance is quickly stalled by guerillas rising up in previously occupied territory, leaving the Aldranian advance to just occupying major roads that are constantly being ambushed, as the vast boreal forests are nigh-unholdable due to fierce guerilla resistance, and the Laurentian Shield is too tough for these conventional Aldranian forces to dig into. Additionally, Elevian Democratic Republic forces have begun their uprising, catching Aldranian forces off-guard. Hunter-Killer teams additionally destroy tanks, pinning down their supportive infantry, before using shaped-charge munitions such as the Grenade Projector to pierce armor and destroy tanks, and even anti-tank rifles to score a couple mobility kills. Another huge issue is that the Aldranians find themselves in a nation with almost no infrastructure that supports mechanized warfare (which is realistically the only way they could have advanced that fast initially), leaving their armor further more vulnerable to ambush, and leaving their infantry unsupported. the Aldranian army is also very poorly maintained (since such a large army is far too expensive to realistically maintain for long periods), and generally not prepared for any warfare beyond conventional conflicts. Additionally, the troops are left unable to perform any maneuvers to attempt to isolate logistics, since these are guerillas, who can live off of the land and can replenish indefinitely, for as long as there is public support, in which public support is by far booming. This is going to be a loooooooooooooooong war.
