The Aldranians succeed in several encirclements... But to what result do they expect? These are guerillas, who persist in the land and enemy munitions, meaning that large encirclements are more like just letting the guerillas operate behind your lines. Remember, encirclements count as conventional tactics; quick war is disadvantageous against guerilla forces, for guerillas choke supply lines, and by advancing fast, you're making deeper incursions into land, and thus leaving longer supply lines, which are further more dangerous. Also, don't go with contested beach landings, they are the hardest type of operation possible! Additionally, both foreign and local made anti-air arrives to bolster the resistance effort. The 1 million sent struggle to contain the guerilla insurgencies due to a lack of tactics capable of doing so, and due to poor numbers; 1 million divided by 292,032 miles (since 936mi wide x 312mi high is 29032mi squared) squared leaves you with 3 soldiers every mile squared, which leaves many soldiers actually left assigned with nothing due to resistance being someplace else, while soldiers who are assigned with combat are incredibly outnumbered locally. your original tactic of retreating was better for you, since it leaves your troops not vulnerable, and lets you just slowly bomb us!!
