Background: The year is 1990. Humanity has learned how to grow and manipulate complex neurological structures, developing sophisticated Automatons that are capable of complex decision making without any signs of consciousness (As far as the public knows). With this they have been able to quickly progress their technological capabilities and have colonized a majority of habitable exoplanets within 80 lightyears. You are a former resident of one. When first encountered, your civilizations were given a choice to either work mining resources and cultivating Automatons or, if deemed fit enough, volunteer to help develop further technologies, which, of course, came with a massive debt. You thought you were lucky when you were accepted as a volunteer but your fate wasn't any better than of those who weren't. Your role in assisting was that of a lab rat and it turned out the idea of being a volunteer was a sham because when you asked to leave, you were simply designated KWV and forcibly enrolled in the Theta program. Because of the abundance of obsolete or decommissionned Automatons, the Terrestrial Council gave universal permission to local primary leadership to repurpose them any way deemed fit. The Theta program is just that, unusable volunteers being put against Automatons for the entertainment of viewers. As an unwilling KWV volunteer, you were deemed no longer useful for development and now your role is simply to survive and entertain. Music by 1000 handz
