about two thirds of the way through this I realized I knew how to shade but for some reason wasn’t. The improvement is VISIBLE help Sooo I decided to do Inktober this year but it's focused on the iliad huzzah ehm was supposed to share this like a month ago when I finished this but uhhh procrastination 1 - I had no clue what to do here and knew I wanted to draw Menelaus at some part sooo 2 - Not exactly Iliad related but more Odyssey related-- but it works 3 - I mean, I had to do Zeus for this one, right? 4 - part one of me breaking the rules 5 - part two of me breaking the rules 6 - ACHILLES!! 7 - crazy Thetis design that I purely made for this prompt but hey I think it looks alright 8 - I generally like Apollo, but in the Iliad I literally DESPISE him 9 - I never got a chance to draw little Ajax :`) But hey at least there's the great one 10 - FIRE FIRE 11 - this was a bit of a stretch. I wasn't sure what to do here, so I drew one of the many times Paris is being insulted, as that's a "sting" to his ego. Haha. I'm so clever aren't I. 12 - </3 13 - OooooOOOOooodysseus~ This guy absolutely deserved better but I just was not in the zone while making this 14 - Man, I had no clue what to do here so I just pulled out that one scene where Priam offers a ton of stuff to Achilles as exchange for Hector's body 15 - another guy that deserves better... also a very underrated character. I feel like we hear a lot about Achilles, Patroclus, Odysseus, Menelaus, and Agamemnon, but never Diomedes! Who literally has a whole chapter on him! And is very gay sometimes with Odysseus! 16 - oh man I hate this guy. This is referring to the "blunder" he made by kicking out that priest and not being respectful and yep 17 - My birthday! I drew Hephaestus forging Achilles's shield, as the shield's design is so intricate and ornate, it's quite literally impossible to actually recreate (create, I guess? Since it was never actually made??? whatever) 18 - Hypnos! This is him doing his favor for Hera and putting Zeus to sleep. 19 - Xanthus! Dude actually thought he stood a chance 20 - this was the day where I remembered I know how to shade ToT I like this one a lot! 21 - ....and then I forgot everything about shading. The "blast" here is not someone blasting her or her blasting someone, but her blasting from Olympus to Earth 22 - One of my favorites! This is a stretch here, but I had no clue what to do so I used the word "button" in the context of "button up" as Ares is told to shut up by Zeus a lot in the Iliad. Zeus FAVORITES Athena 23 - another underrated guy-- this one was really fun to draw, especially the fireflies. This is of Nestor advising everyone (cough Agamemnon cough) 24 - this guy is not very important lol. He appears in the scene where Agamemnon has the genius idea of telling his men they can leave, and Odysseus has to tell them it was a test. Thersites was a random dude who got mad at this info and started arguing with Ody 25 - technically, Hera is the one who tells Hephaestus that Xanthus has had enough, but yall, she’s Hera. I’m willing to believe she enjoyed the whole thing a little bit 26 - this one represents the two sides of Helen we see throughout the Iliad and the Odyssey! The more “innocent” one, who was a victim, and the more devious, Aphrodite-like Helen we see at times (like when she literally pours like calming potion into uhhh maybe menelaus’s drink in the odyssey oop) 27 - if you play Hades, you’ll get this! If you don’t, basically every time you die there’s a little animation that shows that says “there is no escape”. There’s also a special challenge area you can go into, and if you beat all the monsters without getting hit, you get a special boon. If you get hit though, you only get an ONION (get it see it works right right) which only restores +1hp 28 - honestly, this is nit really my design for hades but I had to make him look sort of skeletal yk 29 - this guy!! I knew I wanted to add him but wasn’t sure how, so I ended up doing this moment when there’s a truce and he still shoots pandarus… because I hope he learned a lesson there ;-; 30 - THIS ONE’S MY FAVORITE!! While we don’t actually see Pyrrhus in the Iliad, he appears in the siege of Troy to take his father’s place. I absolutely hate him, and he does not deserve my favorite piece, but alas. “Vacant” refers to his heart because he’s TERRIBLE and I HATE this brat 31 - I figured I had to do Aphrodite last, and this prompt was great as the golden apple was her award for winning Eris’s competition.. I unfortunately don’t like this one more than the last and sort of despise this piece but hey! I’ll live lol Anyways that’s it merry Christmas lmao this was supposed to be posted a WHILE ago
