enjoy (little me wrote a letter to future her, aka me, and that's how this poem was made)
Hey there little one, with shadows in your eyes, You whisper to the night beneath the starlit skies. You say you hate the world, and I can feel the weight, Of every word unspoken, the sorrows that await. Your friends, they do not choose you, they wander far away, And mom’s warm voice now silent, left echoes of dismay. Your father’s heart is distant, his understanding frail, And in this lonely moment, together we set sail. You think that no one’s kind, that friendship’s just a game, But if you look a little deeper, we are both the same. For I too walked in shadows, once lost in bitter strife, With dreams that turned to ashes, and a heart that sought for life. Oh little one, let’s share our burdens hand in hand, In this great wide world of sorrow, we shall make our stand. For I have cast aside the chains of toxic ties that bind, And now I walk a path of words, with solace in my mind. Two demons haunt my waking hours, they whisper in the dark, But through the pain, we’ve painted poems, each a fragile spark. Those lines we wrote together, they light the way anew, A testament to courage, forged by me and you. So tell me all your secrets, release them from your chest, For in the depth of honesty, we’ll find a quiet rest. The world may seem a tempest, it may spin with bitter rage, But we have tales of bravery, and love can turn the page. Let’s gather all the moments, the laughter and the tears, And set them as our compass, to navigate our fears. For in the wreckage of the past, we’ll find what’s truly real, In unity and truth and fight, we learn how love can heal. So shall we burn the world we know, with flames of our design, And write our own beginning, where every heart can shine? Where friends are those who cherish, where kindness reigns supreme, In the garden of our making, we’ll cultivate the dream. With open hearts, we’ll forge ahead, in love’s inclusive glow, We’ll build a space of shelter, where everyone can grow. For every child abandoned, for every soul that aches, We’ll join our hands in harmony, and mend what life remakes. So hey there little one, together we will find, A world stitched from our stories, a tapestry entwined. And as the stars bear witness, to hopes both bold and true, We’ll rise as one against the night, for me and you, for me and you.
