Hey guys! As you can probably tell, my new game did not release before Christmas. Unfortunately, I ran into some complications with my computer that will likely slow down progress for the foreseeable future, and I’m typing this all with my phone. So, to keep you guys satisfied for now, here’s some info before it releases! What kind of gameplay will it have? Gameplay will be similar to Slay the Spire, though there will be a separate mode with a more linear story eventually. That’s all the info I want to share right now about gameplay! How long will it be? I haven’t been able to fully playtest yet, but each run should hopefully be ~15 minutes or longer, not including story stuff and secret bosses. There’s also a ton of content that’s unique each run, making it super replayable. Soundtrack? So far, I have 4 themes done. The main menu/intro, waiting theme, main battle theme (you’re listening to it right now), and final boss theme. However, there will be plenty more in the final soundtrack. What about the story? To be totally honest, I’m a terrible writer. The story will be, for the most part, very predictable and specifically serve to complement the gameplay. However, there is a bunch of environmental storytelling that I’ll be using to tell a lot of the lore and stuff, rather than telling all of it with words. Will it be on Scratch? Nope! Releasing on itch.io as a demo first, then maybe Steam if it feels good enough. I would release it on Scratch too, but it uses a bunch of Turbowarp-native extensions. When will it release? My ideal timeframe is late-January to early February, though it could easily be later. It all depends on if I can get my computer working. The main engine is seriously like at least 60% done. Any other news? I’m working on another semi-major project using a different game engine with my dad, so stay TUNED for that! That’s all for now!
