This Scratch project is a part of a story series. You can read the story down below in the "Notes and Credits".
{Setting: Crisis City, the Hedgehog’s Home Base} Florence: *her brows lower to a serious look* I don’t know if those other purple monsters will appear, but if they do, Silver defend yourself from them if need be, but don’t focus on fighting them for energy. They’re more difficult to destroy than Iblis’ minions. We want to continue to supply your Father as much energy as we can manage. Silver: Understood! Florence: And one more thing… *her face softens again* …I know you’re strong, but please…if for any reason at all, you get in over your head, injured— into anything that’s too much for you to handle, don’t hesitate to call me over to you. I will try to stay as close by as possible without being in your way. Silver: I’ll be fine, Mother—! Florence: *insistent tone* Silver, please promise me you will. Silver: *releases a small huff, but nods* …I promise. Venice: *faintly smirks* Florence: … *has a thoughtful expression as she looks off* …I think…that will be all. Are we clear on the plan then? Venice: *nods* Silver: Yeah…so…is it time to go? Florence: If everyone’s ready…then I guess so. *stands up* I just need to take care of one more thing. *walks out of the room* Silver: Hm? *stands up too and looks to Venice’s face* Venice: *uses the chair to push himself up onto his feet, then gazes in the direction Florence went with an inquiring look* Silver: *thinks: I guess he doesn’t know what she’s doing either.* After a minute, Florence walks back into the room from the bedroom with her journal in her hand. She steps up to her family as her grip on the journal tightens. Silver curiously stares at her, and watches her bittersweet, though hesitant face. She takes a breath, then tosses the journal into the fire. Embers pop out and the fire crackles, as the remaining fire wood below adjusts to the added weight. Silver: ! Huh?! Florence: *watches it smolder and deteriorate from the flames consuming it* … Venice: . . . ? *his head glows as he slightly turns Silver’s way, as he speaks with his telepathy* “What did she do?” Silver: “Mother threw the journal into the fire! Why would she do that? Even with Iblis gone it would have been nice to keep all the work you two did.” *frowns* Venice: … *turns back towards Florence* “If I understand your Mother, then I think it is a gesture— a show of faith that the plan will work, because if we beat Iblis, we will not need that information anymore. To hold onto it may make her feel as if she has not put her full trust into what we are going to do.” Silver: …hm… *watches the journal burn up as well* Florence: … *takes another breath as she runs her hands through her quills then adjusts her skirt* …I suppose it’s time. They all step up to the hole in the building’s wall as smoke flows out above their heads. Together they gaze out at the city, as dark orange clouds loom overhead for the time being, but dark black clouds are rolling in from the distance. Florence: … *looks at Venice* Venice: *feels her hand rest on his arm and turns his head to her* Florence: *opens her mouth, but shuts it back as she stares on longingly* …I… Silver: *peers up at his parents* Venice: *patiently waits* … Florence: I feel as if…I should say or— or do something…but…it still doesn’t feel real— that this is happening. That you’re going to… Venice: … *reaches and touches her head, then gently feels down until her reaches her cheek.* He takes her face in both hands and brings her close. They share a long kiss, as Florence tightly hugs him. Silver blushes at the sight with a wince and turns away in a sheepish manner. Florence: *eventually pulls away and gives Venice a bittersweet smile* … *thinks: It’s not enough, but what would be? I don’t think anything will make me feel anymore willing to be ready to let you go, but I have to.* …I love you so much, Venice. *tears well up in her eyes* Venice: *runs his thumb down her cheek, then turns Silver’s way* Silver: *awkwardly kicks a piece of debris as his hands rests on his hips* Venice kneels down and reaches to pat Silver’s head. The young hedgehog turns to meet his Father’s eyes. A warm smile forms on Venice’s weary face, causing a strong beat in Silver’s chest. His mouth quivers in an unsure manner, then he hugs Venice, and his Father embraces him back. Florence grins at them, then watches as they pull away, and all three hedgehogs turn back to the city. With a final glance at one another, Silver steps over to take his Mother’s hand. They all fly off in the direction of the dark thundering clouds.
