Welcome to the Liminal Parallax, a one-stage parallax artwork showcase. But what is a Liminal Space? Well let me give you an example: A staircase is meant to be climbed; a waiting room is meant to be sat in. When these spaces are empty, they lose their "reason for being." They become vessels without a soul, making you feel like a trespasser in a world that wasn't designed for you to stay. That's why Liminal Spaces make us feel distressed. Many of them are meant to trick you into thinking it is a memory, or related to the past you lived. Even if you have never seen them before, it looks as if you know them like the back of your hand, or the insides of your dreams. A Liminal Space also erases the existance of time, and like a waiting room, it looks as if it is looped over and over again, as if you are trapped there forever. This is often called "Kenopsia", the eerie discomfortable atmosphere of a vacant place that is meant to have people. Like the backrooms, an internet urban legend, you expect the hum of a conversation, but are met with nothing. It's as if you are being watched. It's anxiety from an image. This is a showcase of just that! This is Area Four, the fourth of 5 different Liminal Parallaxes that I will be releasing over the course of about a month.
