Luner came up to him the next day “so… can I call you my roomie?” Annican looked up “oh, sure why not “ Luner smiled and did jazz hands “roomie!” Luner then dropped her hands to her pockets. “I have classes today, so you just wander around to help map out the place in your head. Also, practice shapeshifting but never shapeshift in the halls. People might mistake you for the real animal and..... Well, hurt you.” Annican couldn't help but be sarcastic ”well that's a cheery thought.” He said flatly. “Alright then… bye! Don't d!3 while I'm gone!” Annican suppressed a sigh “I won't!” Annican decided he would try shapeshifting now. He felt a tingle of excitement. He was really able to shapeshift now! He closed his eyes, concentrating. He felt a tug in his core and then he thought of an animal. Hmmmm… how about.. a cat? Within seconds he dropped to a smaller size, he flicked his tail. Wait. He had a tail! It worked! He felt a rush of triumph. It worked! He had shapeshifted! People wouldn't try to k!|| a cat, right? He wandered into the halls, trying to find a mirror. When he did, he gasped. He had a light red-brown pelt, and dark brown rings wrapping around his tail. His eyes were a Hazel that seemed to shine with golden flecks. His ear twitched; he hoped no one would try to take him as a pet. He wandered around, weaving between Crowds easier then he ever could as a human. As he walked, the halls became familiar. Suddenly, he crashed into another cat, she was a white cat, with bluish spots that were outlined with black, she also had orange spots, also outlined with black. Her paws were the same blueish hue, as if she were wading into water. Her eyes were piercing blue. She was quite the pretty she-cat. He wondered if she was another shapeshifter. “Sorry!” He meowed, as he screeched to a stop in front of her. She looked him up and down “ are you a shapeshifter?” She asked, her voice was dangerous yet soft, like a dagger wrapped in velvet. “Uhm~ yes. Are you?” The she-cat looked at him with something new in her gaze. “I am. It's been so long since I've met another shapeshifter!” She walked in circles around him, asking various questions. He turned out most of them until he caught a word. “Taken?” He repeated slowly. “As in.. What kind of taken?” She paused. “So you were listening. Taken as in, are you…. Taken. Like, I don't know. Any way taken. Like stolen. Or in a relationship. Or you know, taken….” She said awkwardly. “Um. No. I was not taken and I am not taken.” He replied, his ear flicked uncomfortably. She flicked her tail and let out a breath. She whirled around, calling behind her shoulder “meet me again? In element class?” Then, she was gone. Annican just stood there for a while, stunned. What just happened? Does she… like me? She barely even knows me! He shook his head. That sure was an interesting interaction. He started walking back to his dorm when he suddenly realized something. *I didn't even get her name! How will I know who she is?* He shook his head and walked slowly back to his dorm. Luner had come back from her classes and Annican had had all of the time in the world to think about what just happened. *No she doesn't like me, it's just that I'm the only shapeshifter that shes seen in a while and she's happy to finally get to know another one*. He thought to himself. Would he ever be able to talk to her in person and not as a cat? Maybe they would make up code names for each other! her spots were cloud shaped, so maybe she could be sky! *If she agrees to the codenames and doesn't think that I'm a total dope for it*. Annican felt Luner's gaze on him “what are you thinking about?” She asked him, her voice slightly hinting that she was jealous of something. “Oh, nothing important” he lied, trying to keep a straight face. Luner studied him “are you lieing to me? I knew this would happen!” Oh right. Future teller. Great “your a future teller, that's right. What's my ‘Morrow’” he asked, half actually curious and the other half teasing. He felt a tingling sensation in his head. Something he couldn't quite put his finger on was there, warning him. He shrugged to himself. If he couldn't remember it probably wasn't important. Luner glared at him “was that a jab at me? Or just a tease?” Annican felt all words melt at her glare. He just stared at her for a while “just a tease!” He said once he had recovered. “Okay then. Do you REALLY want to know?” She asked, sounding curious “not exactly, I want my life to play out itself. I feel like if I knew, id be trying to say and do the right things to have something I want to happen, happen. You know?” He made sure to word this carefully so she didn't feel rejected. She just nodded “I get it” Annican felt a pang of guilt, but there was something telling him that he really didn't want his future to be told.
Luner switched the subject, and he noticed her gaze dropping to her bracelet. “Hey, uh, you start classes soon. Your first class is elements. Check your schedule and you can see who's in your class. They only put people with the same abilities in classes together.” She threw a small, extremely intimidating binder at him that had the same defiant glow as the orb. They were totally trying to make him look like a psycho, talking to inanimate objects because of their aura. He flipped open the book and saw the first list of names, above them was a label ‘element class: lightning and wind' below was lots of names. Under lighting, there was his name. But the thing that made his breath catch was that underneath the wind category, a name in bold black letters burned a hole through his mind. “What?! How can that happen? What!?” Luner rushed to his side. “What's wrong? What happened?” Annican pointed to the name, now etched into his memory. ‘Sky’ _________ Luner frowned. What was wrong with the name Sky? Did she mean something to him? Did he know her? “Who's that?” She asked him. Annican didn't seem to hear her. “Who's that?” She repeated. He still didn't answer. He was staring at the page. He probably had a million thoughts racing through his head. “Who's that?” She tried one more time, irritated. He blinked, as if coming out of a trance. “She- i- met her in the hall today- and- she- i-i” he decided. Luner rolled her eyes. *A very good answer.* She thought bitterly.
