Ch.16.5: “Dilemma” “Could it possibly have been my fault?” Sandy asked. Summer shook her head. “You were trying to help, and that is all. You couldn't have known.” “I know… but…” Sandy sighed. “I wish I could just opt out of this. There isn’t anything I can do now but keep moving.” Summer blinked. “And tell the rest of the crew. They deserve the truth.” “Of course I will.” Sandy thought back to before they arrived on Malderron. A few weeks before, Sandy had found Velvet crying in his room with his head on the desk. He told her that he couldn't figure out how to send a location ping to his friends so that they could visit him. And so, despite being a bit confused, Sandy helped send them the location they would land next. A week after, Velvet sent her a message asking how she had done the ping again, and she explained it through message. And a few days before landing, Sandy had been in the shower when he asked her to please ping their friends the location they would be at on Malderron. When she got out of the shower, she found Velvet's tablet on the bed and had done the ping for him. Now Sandy fully realised what she had done-- she was the reason that Axel had found Velvet and the crew on Malderron. Velvet had been trying to ping Axel all along, for reasons unknown. Maybe he wanted to help save Sage and Cyrus. But how would he have known about them in the first place? “It is weird...” remarked Summer, thinking too. “The ways you said he approached you for help with the pings. He never asked you face to face?” “No, he didn't, now that I think about it,” replied Sandy. Summer paused. “Velvet is hiding something from us.” That was apparent enough. “Maybe he is our Imposter...” Sandy didn't want to jump to conclusions. “I will address the situation in full detail to the crew once we arrive on Polus,” Sandy said, picking up her usual formality and attempting to bottle up the rest of her stress. Summer nodded. “Sandy...?” Sandy looked over at Summer, watching her tap something on her tablet and then pocked it. “It's going to be okay. Can you relax?” Sandy was quiet for a minute. “I don’t know.”

But the plot will remain the same!
